Vivenda Johanna, a small paradise situated on the picturesque rock coast of 'Porto de Mos', is an exquisite holiday residence for the lover of tranquillity, nature, pure air, clean sand beaches and a personal service. The 6 apartments of Vivenda Johanna are are placed in a 6000 square meters property, with a magnificent natural environment. In the garden you will find besides the many flowers and trees also a pond with fishes and an aviary. Around the beautiful pool lies a large sun terrace with mosaic work. From the pool you have a breathtaking view over the vast Atlantic Ocean. The apartments are different from each other in size and shape but they have all the same high quality. From your own private terrace you can enjoy the garden and the magnificent sea view. On the beach of 'Porto de Mos' you'll find some typical Portuguese restaurants. Only 2 Km away lies the old and picturesque town-centre of Lagos with its fish-harbour and marina. You can find several golf courses nearby.

The apartment 'Estrelicia' is situated on the ground floor and is furnished with care and taste. Inside you will find one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room with dining area and a kitchen. The cosy living room has a lounge suite with sofa-bed, a dining area, satellite TV, DVD and MP3 player with USB connection, radio with CD, books and a gas-fire for winter heating. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with ceramic-cooker, oven, refrigerator, microwave, fruit-squeezer, water-cooker, coffee-machine, blender, sandwich-maker, toaster etc. The terrace has an awning, a table, chairs, sunbeds and a sun-umbrella. You have a magnificent sea view from both the terrace and the living room.

We stayed at "Jacaranda" one bed apartment for two weeks. The apartment was clean and tidy, but lacked one thing to make the stay comfortable, AIR CONDITIONING". In the bedroom there was a humidifier which was not much good. The owner loaned us a large stand up fan, which we moved about the apartment to keep cool, without the fan it would have been very warm, although some nights it can cool right down with a sea breeze. In the apartment there is no facilities to wash clothes, although the owner provides a free laundry service, which is a little unpredictable. The one downside was the toilet, you can not flush paper down the loo, a bin is provided for dirty toilet tissue, which was to be emptied on a daily basis, during our stay two days were missed out of our two weeks, not good enough. The apartment its self is comfortable and the kitchen has enough utensils for self catering. Hot water was always available and the shower was great, good pressure. The TV had only one english speaking channel, BBC News 24, which was a big disappoinment. The free Wifi was first class, great reception at all times. The pool was of a good size and there was always room to get a swim. Our apartment had a good private patio for sunbathing, and was close to the pool.If you want to get to the beach, there is a pathway through the gardens, although some steep steps but managible. The host Johanna Kwarts was always to hand if you had any queries. The lock on the front patio door is very fiddly and some times hard to lock, but you soon get used to that. Inside the bedroom there is a electronic safe, good point. When young children are staying in the apartments, they can be rather noisy around the pool area. All in all we enjoyed our stay, it was very restful.

Owner's Response: I’m sorry the client had some complaints about his stay in the Jacaranda at Vivenda Johanna.
We have been letting for over 30 years and we have received awards from “Zoover” and “HolidayCheck”. Because client-satisfaction is very important to us we always try to improve the conditions of the apartments and the service we offer. We want our clients to feel happy about the place they rent. Therefore we are always open to suggestions from our clients and try to meet their requests, solving any problems as quickly as possible.
As the apartments are on the sea normally there is a nice breeze in the afternoon - evening with moderate temperatures.
For this reason the need for air-conditioning has never needed to be our priority. We provide the fans and up to now have never had a complaint about it.
Unfortunately the client’s visit coincided with an exceptionally hot period in Portugal, the highest temperatures in 30 years. If the client would have asked me for more fans I would have supplied them, my house is on the same plot as the apartments and therefore I am always at the client’s disposal.
In the apartments we don’t have humidifiers but dehumidifiers which all work correctly.
The bags for the toilet bins are changed every day. I’m very sorry if the cleaning staff missed a day but with a little communication the problem would have been solved easily.
The free cleaning of the clients’ laundry is one of our special services. The laundry should be put into the laundry basket in the bathroom and is picked up twice a week on the cleaning days. The laundry will be returned the next cleaning day, as I explain to all my clients.
Our satellite dish is directed to the Astra (19.2º E) satellite and therefore the national English channels are not represented on the T.V. There are around 8 English speaking channels most of them with news, however we intent to enlarge the range of channels.
We are very motivated to do everything possible to make the clients holiday a very special one.

Die Beschreibung des Objekts ist absolut zutreffend. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung mit hochwertigen Möbeln und Einrichtungsgegenständen, der Küche mit allen Geräten und hochwertigem Geschirr und Gläsern, die liebevolle Betreuung, die absolute Sauberkeit (Reinigung 2x pro Woche, inkl. persönlicher Wäsche) - alles top. Schöner Meerblick von der Terrasse, zum Strand Fussweg durch die Anlage und dann Treppenweg die Steilküste hinunter. Lagos ist ein tolles Städtchen. Wir werden wiederkommen.

The quiet and intimate beach of `Porto de Mós` is surrounded by the famous Algarve rock-formations and is only a 2 minutes walk away. At the beach you'll find some typical Portuguese restaurants with cosy terraces.

Lagos has 2 daily fresh food markets (fish, meat, vegetables, and fruit), 4 main supermarkets and plenty of interesting shops and restaurants. ATM machines are to be found in numerous locations as well as in the leading bank offices. Good health care service is available. Tennis courts and horse riding are in the neighbourhood. Activity parks like 'Slide and Splash' are all within a 30 minutes drive, the Lagos zoo at 15 minutes. You can also enjoy boat trips either along the coast or up the river to Silves with its beautiful castle.

The area is truly a golfer's paradise. Four golf courses are within a few minutes drive: Boa Vista 5 mins drive away, Palmares Golf 15 mins drive away, Penina courses 20 mins drive away, parque da Floresta 20 mins drive away.
