This apartment was beautiful and had an amazing view. The location was also great with just a 5 minutes walk to the Crown Casino. Staying here highlighted so many pros and benefits over staying in a hotel and will definitely be staying here again and recommending to others. It made our weekend.

Twice we have been to the City Road apartments and enjoyed our stay immensely. It is nice staying centrally in Melbourne for special occasions and sporting events, without the long drives associated with traversing Melbourne. Close to Crown, Tram Car Restaurant, Regent Theatre, Kino Cinema, Exhibition Centre, Etihad Stadium and some of the most talked about restaurants in Australia along the Southbank. If you are a fitness freak there is a lap pool and a well-appointed gym; and why not strolls to the MCG or the Tennis Centre; or a tram ride to the Aquatic Centre – in Albert Park, that nestles up against the Albert Park Lake Grand Prix circuit. In fact with the great views, and comfortable apartment, leaving is the only hard thing to do at this City Road, address. And if you are there for a week there is a Food Works supermarket a right turn at the front of the building; just over [under] Kings Way; and for a full shop, there is a Coles Supermarket, left along Clarendon Street, or a right turn out of the car-park. Along Clarendon Street there are also many ethnic restaurants, including Thai and Indian, and further into the suburb, is the second most famous fresh food market in Melbourne – the South Melbourne Market, off York along Clarendon. This area is a pleasant relaxed gateway onto Melbourne’s beaches; such as St Kilda, Brighton and Sandringham, or further afield to Frankston and Portsea. Or if you need to head west, instead, the road you view from the 40th floor is Westgate Freeway, the gateway to the west. Enjoy your stay, we did.

Perfect location, great unit, spectacular views

There is so much to like about this property, not the least of which is the owner who could not have been more helpful, more accommodating, or kinder. She answered all questions and was quick to do whatever she could to assist us in our travel. She would be a main reason for returning along with the location, which is absolutely perfect.

We stayed for a month and hated to leave. The unit is on the top floor (40th) and the views are magnificent. The lounge is comfortable with a large, flat screen television, small butane fireplace and a full wall of windows with great views of the water. The insulation is amazing, as we never heard our neighbors – a nice surprise.

The kitchen is indeed fully outfitted with everything one might need including a very high end, fully automatic espresso maker. The master bedroom has access to the modern bathroom with a very nice shower via a sliding door and offers a comfortable queen sized bed and a window that opens. There is also a door to the bathroom from the living area.

The extra bedroom has two twins beds that can be put together to form one king bed. There is also an opening window in the guest bedroom.

The building itself is new and has a sufficient gym, nice lap pool and Jacuzzi. There is a concierge during working hours. Because a security card is needed by all owners/guests to enter the building and to access the elevators, the building always feels totally secure.

There really is not a balcony but rather an area that looks like a balcony but is completely enclosed with a full wall of windows and a nice sitting area that is slightly raised above the lounge.

The building itself is not elaborate, but offers all the necessary amenities and our unit definitely ticked all the boxes and we would definitely return.

Amazing Accommodation!

Four of us (2 couples) stayed in this 2 bedroom penthouse apartment for 4 nights. The photos totally depict the apartment and working with management was extremely positive. The location of the penthouse was great because we could walk to the Yarra river promenade, restaurants, Flinders Station, and shopping. No car required. When the sun sets and the lights in Melbourne come to life, the views from the 40th floor are amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy a little bit of luxury while on vacation.

Best Apartment

I believe I was one of the first guest in this elaborate and comfortable penthouse, and what a treat it was! Although I have only been to Melbourne a couple of times, our desire to go exploring was completely inhibited by wanting to spend our time in the luxury of this apartment. With terrific entertainment and second to none facilities, I highly recommend this apartment, and it's management.
