Come and experience our Southern Hospitality in this circa 200 year old building located in the very heart of historical Charleston. The suite has been lovingly restored in 2013. The charm of yesteryear remains and we have added all the luxury amenities of modern living. We are immediately across from the Historic Charleston City Market dating back to 1804. Our location is second to none...you can park your car and never get back in it if shopping on King Street, dining in first class restaurants, and discovering Revolutionary and Civil War history is your goal. You are sure to find pleasure in visiting one of America's oldest museums, touring the Charleston Harbor by boat or visiting the famous Ft. Sumter, strolling through the historical neighborhoods and sneaking views of private Charleston courtyard gardens. King Street, known for designer shopping and antiquing and is only one block away. We look forward to your visit!

We are an officially approved vacation rental by the City of Charleston.

About Terri and Carl

While visiting the area 1998 we fell in love with the charm of the historical city and surroundings, the Southern hospitality and relaxed lifestyle. We moved to Charleston in 1999. The same year we opened One of a Kind, a gallery that features art and fine crafts from nationally acclaimed artists as well as art by regional and local artisans. The gallery is located on the same street just a few doors down from the suite.

The location is second to none! This is the VERY BEST location in downtown Charleston!

What makes this studio unique

The building has a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream shop on the ground floor and opens up to a charming courtyard in the back. There is a complimentary trolley that stops immediately in front of our building. Bike taxis and horse drawn carriages are a popular way of getting around and discovering Charleston's historical treasures and landmarks dating back to the 1600s throuogh 1800s.

Awesome!!

Such a wonderful place! I did this as a surprise for my wife's birthday. In the days after I reserved it, we bought a house and she had some major health problems. We thought we might not get to go at all, but in the end we went for two days instead of the original four. It was just what we needed to get recharged and get away from all of the recent challenges. The room is great! It has everything you need to have a nice relaxing stay. We drove, and there was a parking garage about a block or two away. We didn't need the car at all to go out to eat, shop, take a carriage ride, have ice cream. All is within 1-6 blocks. We will definitely be coming back to spend more time here!

Prime location, adorable suite, great experience!!

This was our first time using VRBO and we didn't know what to expect, but were were so pleasantly surprised! The location could not have been more ideal - walking distance to everything - shopping, markets, restaurants, etc. And the suite was absolutely adorable with great space, exposed brick walls, nice kitchenette area, and clean bathroom. We loved the experience of feeling as if we were staying at a friend's flat for the weekend rather than a commercial hotel. We heard absolutely no street noise and the suite was very quiet. Plus Carl and Terri could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Would highly recommend this place to friends!

Fabulous Location and Quality

This was our first visit to Charleston and it was fantastic. The 3rd Floor suite was in pristine condition, perfectly located in the center of town and just an absolute pleasure to return to each evening. The newly redone bathroom, the kitchen area and living space were all spotless. Surprisingly we heard virtually no noise in the unit during the evening or mornings. We would recommend the suite to any couple looking for a Charleston getaway. We hope to visit again in the future!

Historic Charleston

Having been to Charleston many times before this trip, the refurbished early nineteenth century suite was all we could have asked for. It combined history with all modern amenities, while having warm, cozy, and romantic atmosphere. We were coming up from Florida with fair amount of luggage, so steep stairs to third floor was a little tough, but effort worth it. Would definitely like to stay again on future visit to City.

Perfect, Best VRBO ever!

3rd Floor Suite was WONDERFUL. This was by far the best VRBO I have rented EVER. The suite was very large, beautifully decorated with a very nice kitchen area (sink, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee maker) with lots of storage. The suite was so clean you could SMELL the clean when you walked in. Even the bed linens smelled heavenly. The only down side - if you can call it that - is the street noise. However, I anticipated the noise due to the excellent location of the suite. We parked our car and did not use it again until we left to come home. Everything was within walking distance.

Market Street Suite was the perfect getaway

Terri and Carlos have created a wonderful getaway in Charleston. Right in the heart of town, we were never ran out of things to do: lots of shopping, historic sites, and delicious restaurants all in walking distance. We will be back again and will be recommending it to all our friends!
