An ideal location if you are a keen golfer or just keen on relaxing in a quiet, peaceful location. Built in 2006, this detached villa with air conditioning is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within the Lakeside Golf & Country Club. The villa offers home from home comforts, with an open plan living/dining area, one king size bed in the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and 2 twin bedded rooms with shared bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen for those of you who want to create, and plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute drive, for those of you who don't. The clubhouse also has a brasserie and formal dining restaurant. The villa has its own covered pool with loungers and covered area with fan to keep you cool and where you can enjoy alfresco dining. For the golfers among you, you enjoy the benefits of membership of Lakeside GC while staying at the villa and this entitles you to unlimited golf at 9 other courses within 1/2 hour drive, without paying any green fees.
Activities: For the non-golfer there is plenty to see and do. This is an ideal area for boating, walking, cycling, birdwatching or just simply relaxing by the pool. Tennis is available at the Oaks & Meadows golf club with a Spa and fitness Centre available at the the BellaVista Spa & Fitness Center including indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
The Disney attractions, Busch Gardens at Tampa and the prestine white sandy beaches of Clearwater are just over an hours drive away. Close at home you can visit Homosassa Springs where you can get up close to the Manatee, or Silver Springs where you can take a glass bottom boat ride to see the natural springs and the underwater wildlife. Locally you can take a guided airboat ride to see the local wildlife and you may be lucky to spot an alligator or two.
This was our second year at the Sedgwick's lovely home in Inverness, Florida, and it continues to be a dream come true for avid golfers such as we. The property is spotless, well maintained, comfortably and attractively furnished, and amply supplied with amenities.
Paul and Nicola Sedgwick are friendly, attentive owners who provide maps, directions for several different travel approaches, and other helpful suggestions. Communicating with them, albeit only by e-mail, has been a pleasure.
Many of the chain restaurants such as Olive Garden, and Applebee's are within easy driving distance, but do try Frankies' on Rte 40 not far from Publix Supermarket for very good food in a "grill" atmosphere, and Angelo's Pizzeria in nearby Hernando for absolutely wonderful Italian food.
For us, the icing on this wonderful cake are the greens fees on six golf courses included with the very reasonable rental (cart fees required). Our favorites were Citrus Springs and, newly added in 2012, The Skyview at nearby Terra Vista, but all the courses included in the package are quite nice. And the area has other, quite reasonably priced courses as well.
Simply stated, this property is a rare find!
Inverness is situated in Citrus County approximately 75 miles North West of Orlando. It is a peaceful area with numerous parks and lakes and is only 15 miles from the coast. There is a vast selection of things to do on and in the water, including airboat rides & fishing. Inverness Old Town is steeped in history and has some lovely shops & restaurants. The local supermarket and post office are only about a five minute drive away.
Golf: Free unlimited golf and free green fees. Everyone staying in the villa receives free unlimited golf at Lakeside G&CC Inverness, Citrus Springs G&CC Citrus Springs, Juliette Falls at Dunnellon, Skyview at Terra Vista G&CC Hernando, The Oaks at Citrus Hills G&CC Hernando, The Meadows at Citrus Hills G&CC Hernando and Brentwood at Terra Vista G&CC Lecanto. At Lakeside you can rent clubs and hire balls to practice on the driving range before you set out on your round. Golf carts are available at all clubs for a small fee payable locally.
