Villa with panoramic views of the Gulf of St Tropez

Since the 19th Century a Cabanon (cottage) has occupied the site of the current house in what was then known as La Famorane. The owner would visit by carriage from the village on Sundays to enjoy the spectacular views to the sea and the stunning local surroundings from a place of tranquility. The present main house, in Provencal Mas style, was constructed in the 1990s and has recently been the subject of a total renovation which has created a truly stunning modern house. The property extends to two further cottages. The larger cottage on the same level as the main house has been substantially rebuilt to provide an excellent separate guest suite. The smaller cottage on a level below the main house, with its original stone construction, has retained many of its original features during the development..

We visited Le Haut Refren late June 2010. We had a wonderful time, the house was ideal for our requirements and presented perfectly. The welcome Packs in the bathrooms and the Kitchen were generously complete - pampering toiletries and champagne, wine and delicious fruit, and artisan jams, cocktail bites and chocolates. The garden is a paradise, the pool fabulous and the views to St. Tropez from the terrace are unrivalled. The resident staff took excellent care of our every need from cleaning to driving and much more. Conveniently located - we could walk to the village - but in such a tranquil setting. The website cannot begin to encompass all that the property has to offer which leaves many wonderful surprises during your stay.
