Named for the majestic black rocks found on the beach-front of this scenic holiday retreat on Tobago's Caribbean coast, 'Black Rock Dreams' was built in 2006 and it is without a doubt one of the most impressive and upscale seaside developments located in the Grafton area.
Mahi Mahi Suite is one of eight fully air-conditioned 3-bedroom units set in this charming new condominium complex. Situated on the upper floor, affording all the cherished privacy and 3-sided views only a corner condo can command, 'Mahi Mahi' is quite simply a prince of a suite.
Sweet Dreams are made of this: the very best of places to stay; right on the beach; on an island a.k.a. 'the jewel of the Caribbean'.
Staying @ Mahi Mahi Beach Condo takes the guess work out: since the managers are happy to personally meet and greet their guests at the airport and provide a private escort service to this beach front resort.
Graced with high ceilings, all rooms have a/c and ceiling fans.
Graced with high ceilings and its many tall glass-paned doors and windows, the sun is easily able to do its daily sweep of this luxurious apartment.
The kitchen is a chef's dream come true, with its SS appliances and all the necessary implements for in-house catering or creating your own gourmet meals. A breakfast bar, providing ample seating for four, partially opens the kitchen up to an office and the more formal dining area.
The space set aside to serve as your office, if needed, is furnished with a large antique desk and storage cabinet, where you can lay down your wine and find an in-house guide to help you create your own fun holiday.
For fine dining & the very best of wine evenings, it's only a 2-minute walk to 'The Seahorse Inn' long hailed as Tobago's #1 restaurant. Just past the newly re-opened 'Buccaneer's Bar', there's a popular beach-side boutique run by local sweetheart De-ann, offering keepsakes and hand-made accessories to suit every style & taste. The happening hamlet of Pleasant Prospect is just a few steps further up the shore road. There you can find a cash stop, a small but well-stocked mini-mart, a 'Pizza Boys' selling really cool coffees & refreshments, Joanne's 'Finger Licking' take-out of local favourites like stew chicken & callaloo, and last but by no means least 'The Fish Pot' which is a fully licensed restaurant providing the tastiest of local & international foods in a classic tropical, shabby-chic setting.
We have just returned from our first visit to Tobago. The island is enchanting - unspoilt, friendly and always warm!
Mahi Mahi was the perfect, spacious apartment for our family. Very comfortable and well equipped with gorgeous views. A beautifully kept garden and pool opening straight onto the beach, which was never busy.
The trip was planned as a fishing holiday for my husband and our 3 boys - we used a local fisherman called Kester to take them out everyday - he definitely had 'Xray vision', was delightful and patient. I also became hooked on bird watching and walked up to the Bird Sanctuary (15 min walk) most days to walk through the woods with my binoculars. I saw so many different types, very exciting. We also did a day trip to the Rainforest and had a guided tour by Dexter James. He was very knowledgeable and funny. Afterwards he took us to his sister's house to get some coffee and lunch -
We will definitely be recommending Tobago and Mahi Mahi to all my friends and family,
We are all looking forward to returning next year!
We just completed a 10 day stay at Mahi Mahi Suite on Grafton Beach.
This place is amazing, I cannot imagine a better place to stay on Tobago.
The large terrace with gas grill, comfortable furniture, and a break-taking view of the beach and the sunsets, was probably our favourite feature. The beds were very comfortable, the AC and WIFI worked great, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. We cannot say enough about Gillian, the property manager or Chris the groundskeeper or Chrystal the maid. All were very friendly and responded quickly to our every request.
Their are good restaurants within walking distance, Fish Pot was our favourite, but the Seahorse Inn was also good and the Sunday buffet at Buccaneer's Bar was outstanding value.
The beach is really nice, never busy, great for walking or swimming.
When we return to Tobago, we will definitely stay at Mahi Mahi again!
We loved Flamboyant Suite...the sea view is spectacular and we enjoyed making Pina Colada's and sitting out on the veranda, sometimes in thew evening by candlelight. The pool was more than adequate and the beach just steps away from the suite. We enjoyed cooking...and the kitchen was well appointed with many conveinences that we didn't expect for a holiday getaway. It had great cookware.. great utensils, small appliances,ie..blender, toaster, mixer, and wonderful oven and range top, microwave and dishwasher.
The security system was a little tricky for my sister and I but we are technically challenged. We walked the beach every morning and met very nice visitors to the island usually everday, we would often times take a morning dip in the Carribean. We watched the fishermen casts their nets at night and pull them in the next morning.
We visited Sunday School (not a religious experience) just up the road a bit and enjoyed great food, socialising and dancing to the sounds of the Buccaneer's, an excellent steel drum orchestra in Buccoo.
We went snorkeling off the glass bottom boat out of Store Bay, we swam in the Nylon Pool, took Island Girl for party, sun and fun BBQ, we also took a day and did a private tour of the island interior from Crown Point all the way to Charlotteville. We experienced fresh cocoa, homemade ice cream's, fresh red snapper from the sea, mahi mahi and more, we ate bake and shark...doubles, bus up shut...a personal favorite and much more.
One of our favorite things was to go down to Pigeon Point and relax at the beach...dip in the water..grab a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful island's majestic blue azure and turquoise green waters, while meeting people from just about everywhere in the world, England, Germany, Canada, Italy, USA. Spain and m,any locals.
You cannot ask for a nicer place to stay..Flamboyant suite had all the great amenities like laundry, housekeeping, a beautiful open glass wall that fslides out of view and opens the sea up to you..right inside the suite diinning and living room areas, you can relax inside and still feel the sea breezes on your skin. Just delightful!
Well...I hope you get the picture..it really was just perfect! And Jillian was great to work with throughout the booking process and she even picked us up at the airport.
My wife and I spent a few days here and wished for more! It's right on the beach, very secure with digital alarms and very private. It's very well furnished with a glorious kitchen and a california king sized bed! The pool is a bit small but you're on the beach! Great ocean view from the balcony with a great bar-b-que grill. The property manager is on site if need be. You're a minute away from all amenties. A great location to escape for your everyday!
