Self-catering, rustic luxury, peace, space, pets welcome, snugness for two…

Where winters are mild, comfort can be lacking when nights turn cold, as is often the case in old Southern Portugal. So, beds got electric mattress covers, baths and showers a lush supply of hot water and rooms wood burning stoves and fireplaces or solar powered radiators.

Yet, if nights can turn cold, the midday sun has lots of strength, often beckoning for an “al fresco” lunch in the winter light with its ethereal, diaphanous quality.

Tucked away in a nook of rural countryside at the end of a long access road, straddling a ridge overlooking the coastline, the estate offers all one can wish for a quiet get-away: 32 acres of land ensuring privacy, peace and quiet; scenic views; unspoiled landscapes with centuries old knotty olive trees; the rustic luxury of log fires and the old world charm of bare stone walls, beamed timber ceilings, terracotta clad floors and azulejo panels gracing the walls. A place secluded though not isolated.

Winter! The land is green, the air ethereal and this dwelling a snug and warm refuge after a stroll in the invigorating ocean breeze. Guests remember the tile panel gracing the kitchen, the surprising bathroom, the Patio’s bougainvillea canopy and the dining table brightened by the view of palm trees silhouetted against the sea. On a chilly night, flames dance in the fireplace, a warm show to enjoy from a homey, comfortable armchair; yet the next day, the midday sun on the secluded cobbled terrace at the back of the house beckons to relish an “al fresco” lunch or to improve your winter tan. This is the season when your own lemon tree in your private secret garden will produce a yellow deluge. And in the orchard are oranges and grapefruit galore. Pick some for breakfast! Summary: 110 m2/1200 sqft for 2~4 p, with patio, living, open plan dining/kitchen, 2 bedrooms (twin beds), shared bathroom-cum-dressing (with shower), terrace. wunderschönes urlaubsdomizil

Unsere bereits aufgrund der Angaben im Online-Inserat positiven Erwartungen wurden durch die Realität noch bei weitem übertroffen. Das Ferienhaus ist großzügig geschnitten und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, der Pation wunderschön bewachsen, vor der Terasse steht ein Limonen- und ein Granatapfelbaum, an dem man sich bedienen kann. Mit der schärfsten Brille darf man in puncto Sauberkeit nicht schauen, uns hat das aber nicht gestört, da die Idylle und der Charme des Anwesens das wettmachen. Die Anlage ist sehr schön beplanzt, der Natursteinpool steht herrlich exponiert. Ein weiteres Plus ist der Vermieter. Er lebt selbst auf dem Gelände, ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, dabei aber sehr zurückhaltend. Er hatte hilfreiche und tolle Tipps für uns und ist auch mit den Kindern sehr nett umgegangen. Er spricht fließend französisch und englisch, so dass die Verständigung kein Problem darstellt. Obwohl die Quinta scheinbar abgelegen ist, ist man ganz schnell auf der zentralen Nationalstraße und auch auf der Autobahn, so dass Ausflüge in alle Richtungen möglich sind. Der Osten der Algarve ist vergleichsweise untouristisch, sehr schöne Sandstrände, hübsche Örtchen und Städte. Der nächste schöne Sandstrand ist mit dem Auto in ca. 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Über Restaurants können wir nicht viel schreiben, da wir abends gerne in unserem schönen Haus waren und in der ganz besonderen Küche gegessen haben. Wir können das Haus eigentlich jedem empfehlen, dem die Bilder im Online-Inserat gefallen, denn es ist wiklich noch schöner.

At 2 kms, Angela's small yet well stocked mini-market has most of the daily necessities on the shelves and fresh bread at 9am. Ask her to arrange a free range cockerel for the pot or a home made ice cream cake for a birthday party.

You are just 7 kms north of Fuzeta. From this fishermen’s village a launch will take you across the lagoon to lovely Armona Island for a long walk on an even longer, empty beach.

On week-ends enjoy a bustling farmers’ market or a has-it-all gypsy fair: socks, donkeys, cheese, riding boots or BBQ lunch.
