All the fun mountain and river activities but only one hour to Albuquerque or Santa Fe for shopping, museums, and sightseeing.
This was the perfect place for our family vacation - with something to do for everyone in the group. We went on hikes in the surrounding area (Bandelier, the Caldera, Jemez Falls, Battleship Rock), enjoyed some meals in front of the big fireplace at Los Ojos, had a soaking in the hot springs, played pool in the garage and warmed up in front of the wood stove. The house was just the right size for 8 people and had everything one could possibly need. Thanks Kelli!
Kelli's place in the Jemez Mountains was an awesome place for our whole family to enjoy Christmas together from 3 different states! All the adults had comfy king size beds to sleep in. Only 3 little ones had to sleep on the floor. There was plenty of bedding for everyone including the kids on the floor. Our only concern when we got there was no kitchen table for us to eat our meals at, but a large coffee table for 6 kids to eat by which was better than a table, it was just perfect size. Adults ate all around them on couches, love seats and large overstuffed chairs and other chairs provided. Made for easy clean up! It was too cold to eat on the wonderful porches all around the house! The area around was prefect for snow shoeing and sledding for the kids, and adults alike. Even tho the internet connection is spotty and no cell phone service, we loved it as it made us play games, (provided) read books and made bird and animal ornaments for the beautiful blue spruce tree right out the back door. Our son was so impressed with the fishing equipment left right by the river edge, down the slope from the house. EVERY THING is in good working order, and the cedar wood pile to burn for the wood burning stove was amazing. Nice ambiance for Christmas morning. Thanks Kelli, we will be back, and your place is very comfy and spacious.
This lovely and comfortable two story home was a fun getaway for 5 women. 3 out of 4 of the bedrooms were extremely comfortable and private. The porch that overlooks the river was a peaceful place to hang out and listen to the river. There were nice personal touches like a fishing pole and bait right beside the river. We enjoyed hiking and exploring in one of the multitude of places in this area, soaking in the hot water at the nearby Giggling Springs and having a really delicious meal one night at the Los Ojos Restaurant and Bar. The Jemez is one of the most beautiful places in New Mexico. The Jemez is one of the most beautiful places in the southwest. We were sad to go!
It is perfect get away place. wonderful floor plan. we all ate at porch with no bug bothering us. and enjoy long stairway to Jemez river. very beautiful and very clean place. will go back again!!
I've happily stayed at several VRBO homes and this ranks among the best. We were 6 adults and an infant and all had perfect accommodations (3 king bedrooms and a double). The house is clean, very well equipped, and just a great place to stay. Jemez Springs is a great location for relaxing and sight seeing. This trip we spent time at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque (an hour or so away). The Fiesta was remarkable but getting out of the crowds and back to Jemez was also a delight. We did an hour soak at Giggling Springs and I can recommend breakfast at the Stage Stop. The drive to the Gilman Tunnels south of Jemez Springs on Hwy. 485 is a great short scenic trip. Thanks!
The full length, upstairs and downstairs, screened in porches absolutely MAKE this home. Most of our time at the house was spent on the porches. The rooms were large and comfortable giving us plenty of space to gather and to enjoy our own "alone" time. We could hear the babbling Jemez River from all the bedrooms. The kitchen was more than adequate. The hot tub was not working which was a little disappointing, The TV in the upstairs bedroom worked. However, the TV in the living room and the TV in the downstairs bedroom did not work. It was a big deal to OU Sooner and Denver Bronco fans! We were planning a get together with some local family to watch the games. FYI - the steps and stairs down to the water are quite steep. Not a problem....just be careful. All in all, a beautiful home and very reasonable!
