Alora is a traditional Andalucian whitewashed village sitting on top of the hills of El Hacho, which is 400 metres above sea level. Agricultural produce is mainly olive, almonds, goat milk for cheese and oranges and lemons. Alora has great train links to the Costa del Sol for the beaches, the City of Malaga, Seville, Granada and Cordoba. What is great about the place is its central location, quite accessible to Antequerra, Historic Ronda, Jerez to sample sherry in the bodegas. As well being able to soak in the atmosphere of a traditional Spanish working village, with its narrow, winding, cobbled streets and local shops, you will find a wide variety of restaurants and tapas bars.
Alora is very popular with golfers, walkers and climbers as it is only 20 minutes from the beautiful Andalucian Lake District of El Chorro, famous for its gorge and rock climbing, water sports, fishing or just go for a picnic and a dip in the lake.
Golf courses like Laura Golf, Alhuarin Golf, Parador Golf, Campanilla Golf are only 20 to 30 minutes drive away while Antequera Golf is 40 minutes drive away.
A lot of travelers use Alora as a base to do traveling around because of its proximity to the touring area of Ronda, Seville, Jerez, Granada, Cordoba, Antequera, Torcal National Park and the City of Malaga and a train ride away to the beaches of Costa del Sol.
