Our stay at Mousehole Cottage
We arrived, haven driven through appalling weather for many hours to get there, but felt instantly at home and relaxed as soon as we walked in, Mousehole Cottage had everything we wanted (apart from a cafetiere which has now been bought and donated for the next visitors!) and the living room was cosy and comfortable with great views of the sea. We all loved Mousehole, which has an amazing buzzing atmosphere, and we enjoyed a fantastic, albeit expensive, meal at 2 Fore Street one evening - it was worth every penny. Our favourite beach was Sennen Cove which had fantastic surfing, and we had a day trip to the Scilly Isles which was lovely. Unfortunately, the helicopter was booked and we had to take the ferry, which takes almost 3 hours, and both our daughters were sea sick (as were a number of other passengers) even though the weather was good! We loved Porthcurno beach, but could not get booked into the Minack Theatre which was disappointing - I would recommend booking well in advance. However, there is no guarantee that the weather would be good! We had a fantastic visit to St. Michael's Mount and saved ourselves a fortune with our National Trust cards - the castle is absolutely amazing, all the more interesting for the fact that it is still lived in! We all had a great week and would have loved to have stayed longer. The only down side was 2 very noisy seagulls who woke us early every morning, and the hotel kitchen next door where the staff are often outside smoking looking straight into our kitchen window or into the garden - I'm not sure who was most embarrassed, them or us!
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review and pleased that you were happy, in the main, with the property. The seagull situation is a little out of our control but have certainly taken on board your comments with regards to the hotel next door. We are now receiving quotes to erect a fence to alleviate this problem.
Kind regards
Jonathan
