Glitter Bay apartment 207 ('Palm Trees' on the first floor), has 2 bedrooms. The apartments is one of 48 exclusive apartments set within the extensive tropical gardens, pools, and beach front of the Glitter Bay condominium resort. The apartments are located on Alleynes Bay, one of the best beaches on Barbados's Platinum West Coast, 1/2 mile from Holetown shopping, bars, and restaurants. There is a bus stop outside Glitter Bay, a taxi rank, or we offer car hire to guests as an option.

Glitter Bay has a large pool, children’s pool, 2 tennis courts, a gym, table tennis, a beach bar, and BBQ. Water sports and scuba diving are from the beach, with fantastic snorkeling. Next door is the Fairmont Royal Pavillion Hotel; you can also stroll along to a beach bar or the Lone Star restaurant (the Ivy of the Caribbean).

Palm Trees 207 is our beach home in Barbados and we love coming back each year. We designed Palm Trees to be romantic, and as good as staying at a top 5* hotel. It is modern, beautifully furnished, well equipped, and practical. The master bedroom has a six foot wide 4 posted bed, and glass doors to the terrace. Step out and look over the tropical gardens, pool, and down to the beach and sea. The second bedroom has a carved wood headboard and can be made up as two single beds or a large double bed. We can also accommodate a third bed in the room if necessary for an extra child. Have a swim, breakfast on the terrace, relaxing on the wide white sand Barbados beach, play tennis or golf. Evenings we sit in rocking chairs on the terrace, drink cocktails, listen to the night noises of Barbados, have a romantic dinner, enjoy the sunset, and plan another day in paradise. We try to provide last minute Special Offers when we can. We love our apartment; and hope you will love it too

About Kelvin Medley-Jones

Pippa and I live in Christchurch, Dorset, England. We have owned Palm Trees since 2002. We have fully renovated and furnished the apartment to create a romantic experience.

We feel Palm Trees has the ideal location at Glitter Bay. Palm Trees is located ideally at the end of Block 1 – nearest to the beach - of the Glitter Bay apartments. As such, we are a good distance from and do not hear the noisy road. We are opposite the pool, and close to the beach. We have great views across Palm Trees, the beautiful gardens, and the pool (lovely when lit-up in the evening).

We find staying at Palm Trees very relaxing. The Master bedroom is very romantic, with a massive super-comfy 4 posted bed, and an ensuite with marble countertop and large enclosed walk in shower.

Each time we come here we take time from our own holiday to try and ensure that all items of maintenance or repairs have been carried out to a good standard, and also to add further features or improvements to Palm Trees.

Our aim is to ensure that all our guests love it here as much as we do, and will want to return to stay at Palm Trees again and again.

We have, at last count, seventeen 5* independent reviews from happy guests who have all loved their holiday at Palm trees. Lots of guests return, one set of guests for the past 8 years ! Some like to stay a week, some even stay a month.

As they are all privately owned, the 40 Glitter Bay apartments vary greatly in location, tranquility, apartment facilities, quality of internal finish, and services provided to support guests. Choosing a Glitter Bay apartment for your holiday is choosing between very different standards of accommodation.

Our intention is to give our guests a 5* review holiday experience at good value, and competitively priced compared with other Glitter Bay apartments available.

Pippa and I try to monitor what other Glitter Bay owners and their agents offer in terms of quality, service, and price, and do our best to give our guests the best value for money.

The prices offered at Glitter Bay do vary a lot; we will not always be the cheapest, but we aim to give the best apartment holiday at Glitter Bay. We also try to offer late booking, or single bedroom use discounts on our published prices.

What makes this apartment unique

The other features distinguish Palm Trees from other Glitter Bay apartments are:

Our own housekeeper. We have our own housekeeper/maid, Eleanor, who provides a ½ day six day per week maid, washing up, and once/week personal laundry service ($50BD). Eleanor is lovely, really friendly, has been with us for several years, and is a real asset to us; she will make you feel really at home.

Modern. We have all modern technology within the apartment, with wireless Internet, large flat screen TVs in the lounge and master bedroom, with MCTV satellite TV available, UK/US format DVD players in the lounge and bedroom (so you can bring your own DVDs or hire them in Holetown) and also an i-POD docking/play station to play your own music.

Cool and Dry. The apartment is fully air conditioned, and the balcony has ceiling fans at both the dining and seating (as it can be very uncomfortable if you have dinner in the evening without a ceiling fan). We also have a sun awning to keep the balcony shady and cool for relaxing, and this and our wooden shutters keep the balcony dry if it rains. You can still relax and enjoy yourself on the Palm Trees balcony even when it rains !

Fun. We provide a few items to make your stay fun, such as our books and games libraries, snorkels masks and flippers, and a beach ball).

Peace of Mind. We are fortunate to have the Glitter Bay Estate team to provide immediate on-site assistance or support if needed by our guests to address any problems, issues or questions you may have.

'Palm Trees' is number 207 (first floor). We are part of 48 exclusive apartments set within the extensive tropical gardens, pools, and beach front of the Glitter Bay condominium complex.

We are on Alleynes Bay, one of the best beaches on Barbados's Platinum West Coast. Glitter Bay is 1/2 mile from Holetown shopping, bars, and restaurants. There is a bus stop outside Glitter Bay, a taxi rank, or we offer our car to guests as an option.

The Glitter Bay complex has an adult pool and separate children’s swimming pool, two tennis courts, a gym, table tennis, a childs play area, and its own beach bar and BBQ. Water sports and scuba diving are available from the beach, with fantastic snorkeling.

Next door along the beach is the Fairmont Royal Pavillion Hotel; you can also stroll along the beach to the Lone Start restaurant or JuJu beach bar/restaurant.

There are world class golf courses nearby; we are well situated for cricket

Golf: World class golf courses are near by at Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland.

  • The master bedroom has an en-suite marbled bathroom with very large walk-in shower, and shower power massage head. There is a second marbled bathroom in the apartment. This also has a large walk-in shower with glass door.

  • The master bedroom is very romantic with a king-size six foot wide 4 posted mahogany bed. The bedroom has air-conditioning, and opens out directly to the terrace sitting area; guests have said that waking up to the view of the tropical gardens, palm trees, and pool is like being in paradise. There is an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a stunning hand-made-on-the-island colonial style wood and rattan bed-head and matching furniture. The bed can be made as a 6 foot king bed or as twin beds.. We can also provide on request a third bed or cot for this room so as to accommodate 3. The room is very quiet with views over palm trees. Bed linen and sheets are changed twice weekly.

The kitchen at 207 Palm Trees has granite work-surfaces and is fully equipped with modern white Italian cupboards, and with Smeg dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, and fridge freezer. There are two bar stools and a bar to have a drink before dinner. A feature of 207 Palm Trees is the large terrace balcony with a dining area with table seating 5-6, and a separate relaxing area with corner sofa, chairs, and coffee table. The condo is just beautiful and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. Eleanor is a gem and was very accommodating to our needs. We were so impressed by the beauty of the grounds and beach at Glitter Bay. Everything was so clean and well maintained. And the staff was fantastic! Now we just have to figure out when we can return!

Glitter Bay is a wonderful place to stay -- the perfect combination of having your own apartment/kitchen and hotel-like amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they were very nice to our young kids. The pools are nice to have (our kids loved them!), having the pool bar is convenient and fun, and the beach is gorgeous.

Palm Trees is perfect. It is clean, spacious, with very nice, modern furnishings, and the patio is lovely. We did a lot of cooking, and it had everything we needed. Eleanor comes almost every day and keeps it spotless and even did our laundry. We felt very spoiled and taken care of.

I would highly recommend this property -- you'll have a perfect stay!

My wife and our 2 children aged 14 and 12 have just returned from a 12 night stay at Glitter Bay. The place is spotless and Eleanor who comes in to clean is just fantastic. She made sure we returned home with suitcases full of clean washing.
Glitter bay is in a fantastic location and the beach and warm caribbean sea are truly amazing.The pool was never busy and really safe. The staff were always ready to help and Duncan always made sure everything ran smoothly. We hired a car but in truth we could of managed without but it does give you extra flexibility .Only took the yellow buses once but what an experience. The people from the island were always friendly and willing to help. We did the island safari and Good times catamaran trips which were both great. You can mix eating out with either cheap eats or more upmarket restaurants . Our favourites for cheap eats were Just Grillin and Ramshackle and for more upmarket places the Lone Star and The Beach House. All in all a truly memorable holiday. Go on ! treat yourselves you will not be disappointed . Thanks very much Kelvin x

Lovely stay at Palm Trees June 2012

My wife and I stayed at Palm Trees in June 2012.

Kelvin responded quickly to our initial enquiry and booking was easy. We have been to Barbados many times over 15 years and so we know the West Coast well, and so what we were looking for.

Glitter Bay has a stunning beach and is located next to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion hotel with The Lone Star restaurant a 10 minute beach walk away. There are 2 beach bars nearby, plus its own bar/cafe facility on site. At Lone Star you can snorkel from the beach and swim with the turtles.

You can walk, bus or taxi to Holetown with little problem – the frequent buses drop you right at the Supercenter supermarket for $2BDS each way. If the tide is low you can beachwalk to Holetown.

There is a management team and concierge on site who will respond to any issue that may arise or provide any help you need. The grounds of the resort are immaculately maintained with a nice sized pool and, for fitness fanatics a small gym and tennis courts.

Palm Trees is a well equipped and comfortable apartment and you can believe the description and pictures – what you see is what you get! The fittings and furnishings are top quality. The king size bed in the master bedroom is incredibly comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.

Eleanor kept the apartment clean and tidy and did so discretely – she also did any washing we left out and on our last day insisted we give her all our dirty clothes to clean before we left. Can’t fault that!

So all in all we had a great 2 weeks and would wholeheartedly recommend Glitter Bay and Palm Trees.

We had a fabulous holiday in Barbados and thoroughly enjoyed the spacious and very comfortable accommodation in Palm Trees at Glitter Bay. We were met by Mr Medley-Jones' very friendly agent who showed us around the spotlessly clean apartment with some basic provisions in the fridge. We happened to arrive on a Wednesday which, during our stay, was the evening for complimentary rum punch cocktails in the beach bar. A very good way to get into the spirit of the Caribbean! We were thoroughly spoilt by Eleanor who arrived every day except Sunday's to tidy up, clean, wash dishes, change the sheets and do our laundry! We have never before come back to the UK with suitcases of clean and ironed clothes! After an early game of tennis followed by a relaxed breakfast on the veranda, it was just a few yards to the beach with plenty of space, clear blue sea, complimentary beach towels, attentive staff and a reasonable selection of delicious lunch time snacks. Just something to think about is where to eat each evening, perhaps before departing, especially for the night of arrival as you are advised not to walk in the dark to the nearby restaurants as there is no pavement so you will need a taxi (which the concierge will arrange - but ask the price beforehand!). Many restaurants get booked up at the most popular times to eat, especially if you want a shore-side table. We found the Glitter Bay apartments and Barbados in general a very happy place where we had no security concerns at all. The negatives in the apartment were few and very minor, eg the dripping and loose tap in one bathroom - but that might be fixed before you go. One day we couldn't get the dishwasher to work, but then Eleanor sorted that somehow! The TVs looked very high tech but we didn't turn them on once - there were too many other relaxing and enjoyable things to do! There was excellent WiFi connection in the apartment for those who need it but not by the beach. You do need to get a taxi or hire a car to get to the supermarket for food provisions. You could take the bus but we didn't try that. While mosquitoes are controlled in the apartments by fogging etc this might not be the case in restaurants so some insect repellent spray on your ankles is a good idea before going out. Altogether this was one of the better holidays we have had and our teenage children thoroughly enjoyed it too! We have no hesitation in recommending Palm Trees 207 Glitter Bay as a great place to stay.
