Spacious bed-sitting room with balcony has magnificent panoramic views of old village with a background of heather-covered hills and olive groves. Dining room and charming separate bedroom have original fireplaces. Bedroom windows open to views of hills and pretty garden. Newly built well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Outdoor dining arbour in cottage garden. Ideal self-catering rental for those who wish to enjoy a taste of Greek village life as well as sun and sea.

The village of Zarka (officially Zarakes) is 2 1/2 hours from Athens airport. It is an authentic working village with tavernas and cafes and a well-stocked shop. There is also a butcher and bakery, right on the doorstep. It is well situated for walking and exploring. and close to spectacular beaches. All nearby beaches have tavernas with fresh fish a speciality. Zarka beach is 5 km away and the magnificent Limnionas 6 1/2. Aliverion ( 20 kms away) is the nearest market town where a lively street market is held every Saturday. Nea Styra, also 20 km away, is the nearest port where a variety of waterfront cafes and tavernas give ample opportunity to people watch.

Karystos , the main port town of Southern Evia is a magnificent 1 hour and 15 Min drive from Zarka. Here there is much of historic interest, including Roman columns, a Venetian castle and an attractive museum.

It was a great discovery the Island Evia. Everywhere you can see the sea and it is still very quiet here.
If you want to be part of the community, meet people go to Valley View Cottage.
One side of the house is quiet with spectacular views. From the other side you are part of a small village with everything you need.
In the evening everyone is outside and just 100 mtrs from the house there is the local taverna.
After one day people know you and you feel welcome. A great way to know the Greek people better than all the other news you here or read these days.

In daytime go to the small beaches without any foreign tourists. Just among the Greek's.

We would like to say thank you that we could spend our holiday in a such beautiful place. Valley View Cottage in Zarakes is a cute cottage in a traditional style, furnished very comfortable, with great garden, where you can spend your breakfast. Bedrooms are situated on the east, so we could watch the sun-rise. If you are looking for the place where you can spend peaceful holiday with your family is a village Zarakes and island Evia the right decision.
