About this property

Luxury rental villa with infinity pool and panoramic views

‘Podere La Serra’ is a very special luxury rental villa with breathtaking panoramic views of the beautiful Apuane hills. This Grade II listed self-catering villa is a converted farmhouse and has been restored with loving attention to detail, with character features such as the traditional woodburning stove, huge chestnut beams and sweeping staircases. Luxury mod cons have been added such as the stunning infinity pool, looking out onto 50 miles of mesmerising Tuscan hills and valleys, as well as internal features such as ensuite Jacuzzis, Smart TV and wifi access. Outside, a lovely shaded pergola draped with purple wisteria is the setting for al fresco lunches and more often than not a glass of wine produced from the Podere's own vines. Set amongst sleepy Tuscan villages and within 60 acres of private vineyards, olive groves and porcini woodland, this villa gives a wonderful sense of peaceful seclusion, whilst only 10 minutes from Fivizzano and just an hour from Pisa airport.

Lovely Villa
Lovely villa in a beautiful setting. The villa is very large over 3 floors - every bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Large terrace to eat outdoors. Large infinity pool with breath-taking views very close to the villa. Beautiful views from all bedrooms and terrace across the valley to the hills/mountains beyond. Photos do not do it justice. One bedroom is a separate annex immediately next to the villa (only an issue if you needed parents in the same building as small children). One bedroom on is on the lowest level and immediately off the main kitchen and windows open to the main terrace. Well equipped kitchen with espresso machine, washing machine, dishwasher. WiFi only works in living room and two bedrooms. Nearby village Agnino has a locals bar (but sadly no longer a bakery). Elisa and her mother Angela (very friendly) checked in on us to check everything was OK and cooked a lovely meal. Leaving was relaxed and we could finish breakfast and have a last swim after the 10.00am check out. Nearby (10-15 minute drive) Fivizzano has café/bars, bank, restaurants bakery, pharmacy and supermarket. Overall, a fantastic place to stay.

In the hills of Tuscany
Podere la Serra is a beautiful, spacious, tranquil house in the hills a few miles outside the small town of Fivizzano. Given our warming world this location was extremely HOT during our stay 2-9 July 2022 (up to 35 degrees) which meant that the pool was wonderful but we had reduced motivation to explore far. The windy roads to Aulla (the autoroute links) are also off putting. Our only day trip was to Lucca, which was lovely but took far longer than expected. So - a perfect location for seeing one quiet part of Italy! Lovely to meet family and friends after the last two years with limited contact.

Just got back from the most wonderful week. The pictures do not do the villa justice.
Thank you Emma and Adam allowing us to enjoy your beautiful villa, all the rooms were lovely with stunning views over the countryside. Well stocked kitchen, great pizza oven and BBQ. Plenty of indoor space if needed (we did not) with lots of games. Outside area large under covered table and lovely area by the Pizza oven which was a great sun trap , pool was lovely again with stunning views. What else can I say Thank you again Sep 2019 party of 11 adults ranging in age from 56-22

Fantastic!
Although the property is somewhat off the beaten track, it was well worth it for the most amazing setting. In the mountains of Tuscany, the scenery was everchanging and the infinity pool could not have been better placed. The villa was large and every bedroom had a bathroom. It was spotless and had all the modern amenities, while still having that old world charm.

Amazing villa, perfect location for family holiday.
Amazing villa in a stunning location. The perfect location for a relaxing and 'off grid' holiday away from everything. Villa is beautifully furnished in rustic and comfortable style, very well equipped for large groups/ families. House, garden and pool well maintained, and spotless. Angela (housekeeper) is a gem and keeps everything in good order. Strongly recommend inviting her to cook a meal at the villa, as we enjoyed three fantastic meals cooked by her. Brilliant holiday, no complaints at all!

Adam and I love Italy and this beautiful villa, we have three young children and frequently make the trip over to spend time at La Serra.
We met and fell in love at the villa, lived in Italy for a year, and moved home to the UK to get married and have our children. Since then there have been many engagements on the terrace, and it's a very special place for us.

Why they chose this property

Adam's father renovated the property - when he first found it the villa was a derelict farm house with the most staggering view. Now we have inherited this lovely villa, with its 6 bedrooms, infinity pool, exposed beams, beautiful stonework and still the extraordinary views.
The people are so special here, we have come to see them as our Italian family. It is a place to escape to, it's good for the soul.

What makes this property unique

Podere La Serra is luxuriously quiet, it really is an oasis, perched up in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Sitting out on the terrace with a glass of wine listening to the church bells and soaking up the glorious sunshine is one of life's greatest pleasures. Our children love the pool, and we find that here we can truly relax and just enjoy being together.
