My name's Philip Chantry and I originally bought the apartment as I wanted somewhere for our family of five to go back to again and again. I since thought it would be nice to allow others to enjoy it as we have done since 2007!

We chose this apartment as it had a great sea-view and it was large enough for our family. Also, the town and beach are both very child-friendly and safe.

We had a lovely holiday. The afternoons were surprisingly hot for this time of year and I liked that it was so quiet around the bay. And I have to say my favourite restaurant was Portabello's – We loved it. It was very reasonable at all the places we visited, so it so didn’t hurt the pocket too much!

A fantastic place to stay

A really spacious and well equipped apartment. We quickly felt at home here and would have loved to stay longer. Its in an ideal location, just a short walk from the beach. Photos and description are true to word we would really recommend it. The pool table is a great asset and was much appreciated.

Phlip, el dueño, nos facilitó todo tipo de información para asegurar que nuestra estancia fuese muy buena: sitios que visitar, lugares donde comer, desplazamientos, etc.

Everything for the perfect holiday

Three pensioner couples shared this beautiful apartment for 17 nights. Evething was as described or better. The views are great, and it is just far enough away from the front to give a quiet holiday. The surrounding area has many outstanding places to visit, and the scenery of the silver coast is stunning. Acasa was voted top restaurant, but they were all very good. We caught the coach to Lisbon, tickets from the post office and the bus stop is on the far side of the road from Intermarche supermarket. We drove to Porto, and parked for free south of the Douro river opposite the old railway station in Gaia. Stunning view of Porto, and a short walk to the metro. We caught the city tour bus outside the metro, which worked out well. Lots of other places to visit, but don't miss Buddha Eden and the terracotta army for euro 2.5 entry. Highly recommended.

Great time at the apartment and silver coast

We spent a week at this apartment with two children aged 6 months and 2 yrs old. We had a great time at the apartment and SMP. Great place. Already planning our next trip there. The apartment has everything you need and the owner Phil is very helpful.

The Place to stay

My husband and teenage daughter stayed in this apartment for two weeks in August. Lovely area, uncommercialised but plenty to do from lying by the pool, sitting on the beach, visiting towns and historic buildings, enjoying a meal in a local restaurants.

The apartment is just as described. Spacious and clean. The apartment is in a very convenient position for the beach, shops and restaurants. Even the large supermarket is within walking distance through the streets of the town rather than walking on the main road. A car is not essential but would recommend if you want to travel further a field. We hired a car for a week of our stay through Tiago Coelho (recommended by the owner) very convenient and delivered to our door. Kim Hurren (again recommended by the owner) transported as too and from the airport - no hassle and competitive rates

Lots of interesting places to visit within an hours drive of the town including a day in Lisbon. Easiest to park at the airport and catch the tube (a day ticket covering train, bus, funicular 6 euros) Unfortunately we couldn't find the car park for 5 euros a day but still felt it was good value at 17euros compared to UK cities!!

Phil the apartment owner was a pleasure to deal with from making the first contact, always prompt with replies and gave lots of useful information. Would highly recommend.

High standard accommodation close to amenities

Overall we had a wonderful holiday, The apartment is outstanding and the welcoming touches like the wine and beach balls were greatly appreciated by young and old alike. We have stayed in many many apartments and I can honestly say this was the nicest-it really felt like a home as opposed to a ‘sparse holiday let’. Small things like having beach towels supplied, fully functioning black out shutters and comfy beds make a great difference especially when travelling with young kids.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Silver Coast and, despite having read a bit about it before our holidays, it certainly exceeded our expectations. We could easily have found things to occupy us for another week or two. We had mixed weather, which in other holiday destinations could have potentially ruined the holiday, but in this case it just allowed us to broaden our horizons and encouraged us to explore the beautiful surrounding areas.

Sao Martinho do Porto is a beautiful town, which manages to achieve the balance between being authentic and being able to meet some touristy needs. Great place for families and very close to beach / shops / restaurants. Lovely large pool with children's pool.

Apartment owner really helpful at answering pre-booking questions and we were greeted in a welcoming manner by the property manager when we arrived. The apartment was in excellent condition and spotless.

The apartment was more central than we realised when booking and superbly serviced by roads and motorways

The board walk was exceptional

Atmosphere during ‘Festas San Antonio’ and the fireworks were amazing

Local shops and restaurants exceeded our expectations-Sanar particularly good for the kids and Atlantico for the Coeliac with us. Having said that we never had a bad meal and the coeliac got no gluten whatsoever on the whole trip (which was amazing!!!)

Visited Fatima, Grutas da Moeda, Nazare, Alcobaca, Lourinha, Torres Vedras, Caldas Da Rainha, Foz Alhero-all highly recommended

Can't recommend this accommodation highly enough-a pleasure to stay in. We fully intend to return. Thanks to Philip and Ana
