Set in beautiful terraced gardens enclosing a private swimming pool which is virtually chlorine-free. The location of this villa ensures there is always sunshine in the pool area in the mornings as well as afternoons and evenings.
Inside, you will find luxury-grade furnishing with designer kitchen and rainfall showers in each of the 3 bathrooms. There are 5 bedrooms each with air-con. large comfortably furnished living room with floor to ceiling panoramic views of the Aegean sea, complete with comfortable sofas, satellite television, DVD player and an open fireplace for the cooler evenings. Opening out onto a large marble terrace with full sea view, ideal for al fresco dining whilst watching the magnificent sunsets.
More on the Location...... Faralya is accessed by a lovely mountain road with spectacular views down to the sea. It is a small unspoilt turkish village with the famous tourist resort of Olu Deniz just a 15 minute drive away.
Faralya is a relaxing hillside village, where guests will see the real Turkey. The village has developed over the last 20 years, as before that access was by way of donkey or boat! In terms of eating out in the evenings, there are several small boutique hotels within 10 mins walking distance of the villa, or a short drive ( one of which Kate Moss hired out the week before her wedding). There are also village pancake houses, that also serve freshly caught fish and traditional turkish meals.
Faralya has a number of hidden gems, canyoning down into the famous Butterfly Valley, the famous Lycian Walkway which passes close to the villa. Faralya has three beaches within 10 mins drive. Aktas which is very close to the villa, has no sand but volcanic rock to explore and jump into the crystal sea from. Kabak beach is just a 5 min drive away, there is a jeep safari which takes 5 mins through the hillside to reach the beach, very enjoyable. Kidrak beach is 10 mins drive and 5 mins from the famous Olu Deniz beach and Blue Lagoon, these are far busier than the others. Olu Deniz is famous for its beach and paragliding.
The villagers are very proud of Faralya and love nothing more than offering tourists a glass of 'Cay' tea whilst on their walks and teaching you a few turkish words. You will see goats and the odd cow being grazed in the hills during the day and locally produced honey is always available.
Fethiye is the closest large town being a 30 min drive away, which has the harbour, shops and large markets, although there are closer shops and restaurants in Olu Deniz for a change of scenery.

'Secret Turkey: six hidden holiday spots'
Twenty minutes beyond the bling and bright lights of Olu Deniz, the hillside village of Faralya feels like another world. The road winds along beside the sea before climbing vertiginously and snaking around the edge of Butterfly Valley, a sheer-sided gash in the mountain with a beautiful, boat-accessible beach at the bottom.
Faralya is the sort of village where the shops are still vine-clad shacks offering pide (Turkish flatbreads) and çorba (soup), and there’s a giddy, merciful lack of neon.
A good range of places to stay includes simple backpacker pensions to a couple of stylish boutique hotels (don’t let this put you off, there really isn’t much else). The Lycian Way, a long-distance walking route, runs through the village and there are other waymarked trails from its centre.
There are many restaurants in Faralya: a new one just opened which is 5 minites walk from the villa. They are friendly village restaurants and you can certainly drop in anytime for a meal or a snack without a reservation. You can also eat out in Olu Deniz where there is a huge choice of larger restaurants. For a more up-market restaurant in Faralya : Mandarin boutique hotel.
About the beaches.....
Olu Deniz beach: (free) 20 minutes drive: very child friendly, big beach, has won awards, watersports, lots of holiday-makers. beach front bars, shops.
The Blue Lagoon: adjacent to Olu Deniz beach: pedalos, shallow water, no waves, fee to enter.
Kabak beach: (free) 5 min drive + 20m walk down (or jeep transfer down/ up available)
great sand/pebble beach, steep walk down through 'tree houses', backpackers restaurants. Usually not many people.
Kidrak beach: near Lykiaworld, 10 min drive, Fee to enter. Great sandy beach. not many people. more peaceful than Olu Deniz, need to take own food.
Aktas beach: 2 min drive + 10m walk through pine forest: large flat rocks, shelving into the sea. Great fun to climb around. Great for snorkelling, swimming, very unspoilt, not many people there, often no-one else. May have to keep an eye out on young children if you have any and supervise any climbing of big rocks.
More on activities......
There are many activities on sale at Olu Deniz for children or adults. Also go-karting in Hisaronu, boating trips, waterpark in Hisaronu, parascending and Paragliding landing on Olu Deniz beach (one of the best places for tandem paragliding in the world). Horse riding in Kaya village or Hisaronu. Fishing trips can be arranged from Olu Deniz.
Turkish gifts: you will not struggle to find these!! they are everywhere in Olu Deniz. Also the harbour area in Fethiye is good for quality shops. The markets are full of bargains, although the Fethiye Saturday market is more for Turkish shoppers mainly fruit and veg, turkish delight, nuts etc.
This property enjoys the perfect combination of typical turkish village life and all the modern appliances.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Just back from a fantastic time at Mimosa Villa. We all agreed it was
probably one of the best holidays we have had. We are envious of your beautiful villa, you have done a superb job and the views!!!!!!! what can I say. The locals were very
friendly and Nicola looked after us very well. It was our first visit to Turkey but certainly not our last and hopefully you will let us come to your villa again.
