Location, location, location . . . and then some!
We rented Quarterview as home-base for four days of French Quarter music, food, and sights with friends who live in NOLA. It was the ideal location, within a few minutes' walk of the entire Quarter and the equally lively Faubourg Marigny jazz scene. We never needed to use our car or all a cab, and the place even came with a residential on-street parking permit.
Quarterview is a true efficiency, with a compact but well equipped kitchen and modern bath. It has just enough table space for eating-in the few meals a visitor might want (but don't count on having dinner guests!). Comfortably furnished with mammoth bed, period furniture, high ceilings, and interesting decor with a decidedly local accent. The building is beautifully restored, secure and quiet, with a locked courtyard where our bicycles were safe.
We were there during the Great Freezup of 2014, so Quarterview was a bit cold until the space heaters banished the chill, and we're sure that in more normal weather it takes less then 5 or 10 minutes for hot water to reach the taps. The owners were VERY responsive to the few requests we had, and were in all respects a delight to deal with.
We will most certainly return, if we can, on future visits to NOLA.
