Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Hope Cove - Brook Cottages 1, 2 & 3
Sleeps 6 - family friendly chalet, big garden, moments from the beach
The front door opens directly into a comfortable lounge and open plan kitchen / dining area. Each cottage has three bedrooms, each sleeping 2 people to accommodate 6 people overall. There is a twin room, and a double room which leads into a room with a bunk bed. There is a shower room with sink & WC off the lounge. A baby bath, cot & high chair is provided in each cottage, together with plastic plates, cups & cutlery.
Set in about 2 acres of shared gardens it is perfect to let the family run around. There is a communal BBQ & outside dinning area & informal lawns. From the lounge & kitchen there are beautiful views onto the immediate garden & grazing fields on the other side of the valley. Badgers often appear after dark to keep guests company.

Further details on accommodation etc: Shared facilities with other cottage residents include laundry room with a washing machine (coin operated), a tumble dryer(coin operated) guests' use. There is also a communal BBQ area with picnic tables scattered around the grounds for every one's use.
Most guests prefer to bring their own sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases, towels and tea towels. You can rent linen through our housekeepers, who will make up the beds before you arrive and strip them again when you leave. You can get in touch with them via their web site www.pebblesofsalcombe.co.uk/linen.php . All 5 beds come to about £53 for the week.
Each bed has a mattress with a cover, duvet, pillows & a number of blankets are available.
The kitchen is reasonably stocked with pots, pans, utensils, crockery & glasses
Getting there, parking & keys: Driving from towards Hope Cove from Galmpton, you will pass a large 'Hope Cove' sign with a picture of a bike & a parent/child. Just before you enter the built up area, you will see a sign on the left for 'Inner Hope' (left) and 'Outer Hope' (straight on). Turn left immediately after this sign into the car park area. The spaces are available on a first come first served basis. There are enough spaces for a car for each cottage & there is also parking available on the grass by prior agreement.
Walk down the steps in the bottom right-hand corner of the car park, towards the buildings & turn left at the bottom towards the laundry room. Then turn right down another flight of stairs to the cottages. They are clearly marked with slate signs 1, 2 & 3 Brook Cottage.
At the bottom of the stairs is a water butt, next to which are three key safes which are clearly marked. We will send you the codes upon receipt of your final payment.
Things to do: Along the South Devon Coastal Path going West is South Milton Sands with its limestone arch (NT). Thurlstone Sands is only a 30 minute walk away (even with a buggy), with beautiful beaches & an 18 hole golf course.
A few miles further on, Bantham and Bigbury are both wide beaches, popular with windsurfers & swimmers. At low tide Bigbury beach connects to Burgh Island & its cozy 'smugglers' pub dating from 14th Century. There is a little cafe by the beach selling tasty organic produce from sustainable local farms within a 15 mile radius.
Going East along the South Devon Coast Path , towards Salcombe, will take you past a restaurant with a Pirates playground at Bolt Head & about 2 hours later onto the Overbecks National Trust property at South Sands Beach in Salcombe.
Salcombe is full of boutique shops, Jack Wills, Fat Face, lots of coastal shops. The Victoria pub has a brilliant garden with chickens and a playground ( and Sky Sports) a great way to spend a few hours on a Sat.

About Luke Mutter
A family of five, growing faster by the day. Our children are between 6 and 11.
This year we moved to Chicago because of work, and have the properties managed by my niece in London and Pebbles of Salcombe locally.
I manage the bookings and payments on a daily basis.
If you want to Skype or talk on the phone, let me know and I will call you.
Luke Mutter purchased this cottage in 2008
Why Luke Mutter chose Hope Cove
We bought these cottages as a legacy for our children and our family, and to offer us a place by the sea when we needed it. Our vision was to have all cottages full whenever we were there, or just have us on our own for some private time.
The beauty is that you could have three families of 6 for a weekend or a half term break, and have your own kitchen each - and, when everyone does a course for dinner you can each have your own space for bath time and dinner prep.
I used to camp just outside Hope Cove 30 years ago with my family and remembered fantastic holidays on the beach. In the 6 years we have owned them, we have never looked back.
The properties have rented well, have wonderful feedback, the local team manage, clean and maintain them well, and we are always delighted when we catch a last minute break.
What makes this cottage unique
We fell in love with the garden, the proximity to the beach, and the ability to have other families join us for the weekend or the week in the other cottages. Families with new children will love the cottage because they are so easy to get in and out of. You can cook or wash up and watch the kids playing in the garden. Six years on, and our children spend hours on the beach which means they always sleep for 10 to 12 hours a night when we are here.
