La Romana is on the south coast of the Dominican Republic, half way between the capital, Santo Domingo, and Punta Cana, at the eastern tip. It's about an hour and a half drive both from Santo Domingo and from Punta Cana. There are direct flights to La Romana from Miami, and flights to Punta Cana and Santo Domingo from London, Madrid and Paris.
Casa de Campo is a gated community on the beach, a ten-minute drive from La Romana. Besides the activities inside the resort, there is adventure go-carting in the area, and shops and restaurants in La Romana. Within an hour or two's drive, there is a spectacular cavern to visit, and a natural park with spectacular tropical flora and fauna, rafting, and adventure swinging through trees.
