Magnificent self-catering villa rental in the heart of the French Riviera

This Mansion, MON REPOS, really and truly a beauty spot, is located directly above Grasse with impressive panoramic views to the front. Grasse lies approx 15 km from the coastline and is protected by the foothills of the Alps behind it. The excellent climate has attracted the European Aristocracy for over a 100 years. Numerous buildings - like this villa - were built to house them. The villa is within walking distance of all shops and amenities. The villa sits in a Mediterranean garden, with a pool and a large south-facing terrace. There is a secure parking for 3 cars. There are three bedrooms, one of them with ensuite facilities and balconies. There are two stylish bathrooms and a shower room. There is a large living area, a fully equipped kitchen as well as a billiard table, bar and large terraces. The estate is lined with hedges and is very private.

As it is the regular residence of the owner throughout the year, you will find all equipments on a very high standard.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: *Concerning pets, please contact the owner in advance.

*You should leave the villa like you would like to find it at your arrival. If you´re unable, cleaning costs of € 100 appear.

*Towels, including beach towels and linen are provided, the final washing of towels and linen is included in the price.

* A security deposit in cash of EUR 500 ( or equivalent in GBP, USD) is required at your arrival.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION CONDITIONS : *A deposit of 20% is required on booking and the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of arrival date. A refundable cash security deposit of € 500 (or equivalent in GBP, USD) is required against breakages and damage which will be refunded at the return of the villa keys to me providing I have found everything to be in order after checking the villa inventory.

*A cancellation is possible up to 8 weeks prior to arrival with a handling fee of the deposit. From 8 weeks to 2 weeks prior to arrival a cancellation is possible with costs of 50 %, and, sorry, for the last two weeks it´s 100 %.

LIABILITIES: The owner disclaims all liabilities for the use of the object during your stay. He will hand over the villa in good order and condition. Children have to be under parental control at any time.

This is the loveliest house which is even better than the description suggests. The house itself is immaculate, the garden extremely attractive and best of all the pool and terraces. Very hard to drag ourselves away from such a wonderful and relaxing place. 4 teenagers joined us who went to Cannes for the day but couldn't wait to return to the private pool!

Away from it all in the middle of town

This really is a very special property - packed full of character and with wonderful views across the Grasse bowl to the sea. The pool is just as nice as it looks in the picture, and Andreas has some special equipment to keep it very clean. We spent a lot of time there. Grasse centre is just 5 mins walk down the hill for provisions, restaurants, exploring the old town etc. We didn't take the car out much, but it is of course very well-placed for exploring the hilltop villages and the coast. It is in the middle of the town, so not somewhere for those who want peace and quiet, but the house and grounds are very private, making it a wonderful haven.

JUST PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

WHAT A WEEK!!! this house is INCREDIBLE. I have stayed in may many places as an international producer of fashion shoots and would no doubt bring the most discerning of teams and clients to this place. Everything was as mentioned in the description and MORE. Conveniently located within walking distance of 5 minutes to great restaurants, local bars and amazing culture. We arrived and were greeted by Andreas the super genuine and accommodating owner. After he quickly settled us in we enjoyed the beautiful manicured gardens, large pool and spectacular views and open air kitchen / BBQ. The bedrooms are large, well equipped and even if you had 6 staying the house this place is large enough to offer privacy if you want to be on your own. I would highly recommend this house to responsible groups and people who can appreciate how much hard work and effort has been put into this place in order to deliver the best holiday for anyone staying here. I highly, highly recommend this magical, tasteful villa.

Private villa in central location

We stayed at this villa for a week in September with our grown-up children. The house is lovely with a lot of period features and has been tastefully updated. It has a relatively small kitchen but is very well equipped with plates, glasses etc. The main living area is L shaped - the larger part is more or less filled by the billiard table which doubles as a dining table, and the smaller area is set up as a bar with a small sofa and armchair in the corner of the L. However we weren't indoors very much during the day as we were either out exploring the area or enjoying the garden. There is a very pleasant shady dining area outside - ideal for breakfasting on croissants from the excellent local boulangerie though it's difficult to resist the lure of local restaurants at lunchtime! The pool was a bit chilly for swimming this late in the season. The location is fantastic - just a short (though steep) walk into town with its restaurants, shops and wonderful Provencale buildings. There is secure parking but because of the narrow street it was quite difficult to get our estate car in and out through the gate - there was definitely a knack to it! We also had to do a 3 point turn to go right at the end of the road into town - though as there are so many steep and narrow streets in Grasse that wasn't unusual. Andreas, our landlord, was very helpful and friendly. We would certainly go back.

Great Time in Grasse

We ( UK family of 4 including teenagers) recently had a car-free holiday on the Cote d'Azur staying both in Nice and Grasse. Taking the Lignes d'Azur 500 Bus (one euro per person 90 min journey) from centre of Nice to Grasse bus station (also stops at Nice Airport), Mon Repos was easy to find with approx. 10 minutes uphill walk. The owner let us drop off our luggage early so we could go and have a look round Grasse and get some provisions before gaining full access to the accommodation later in the afternoon. Andreas spent some some time showing us around the Villa and left a helpful list of instructions. The clean and well-equipped 1920s character Villa was stunning with great views over the town and coast. We spent most days enjoying its recreational facilities; pool was fantastic, pool table great for family tournaments. There is plenty of outdoor space for relaxing and eating and always a shady seat when required. Access to public transport was easy- bus station five minutes walk downhill and railway station accessed via bus from bus station every 10 minutes. We had trips to Cannes, 600 bus from Grasse (60 min journey ) and Antibes, direct train from Grasse (30 min journey). Plenty of restaurants and provisions in Grasse centre -Monoprix and Boulangerie 5 minutes walk. We would definitely consider staying here again if holidaying in the area.

Grasse is a medieval town set in the foothills of the Alps overlooking the Cote d'Azur. Being set back slightly from the coast, it overlooks the Mediterranean sea from Nice to the gulf of Mandelieu and into the mountains of Esterel with a wonderful panorama.

Grasse is well-known as the world's capital for perfume and houses the 3 large perfumeries: Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard, all of which can be visited and all offer visitors the chance to create their own perfume.

There are numerous activities available in the area:

Golf: *GOLF

The French Riviera is the ideal destination for golfing ethusiasts who like a Mediterranean backdrop to their swing. There are 19 courses near the Villa, including:

10 minutes drive: Saint Donat Country Club: 18 hole (6031m par 71 and its 9-hole course are set in a typically natural decor combining trees, fragrances and flower beds. A fine American-style course, beautiful sculpted, it easily accommodates all levels of play. It owns all the triumphs of a big golf centre.

5 minutes drive: Clauxamic Golf Course - 18hole course (6021m par 72 lies on a superb hillside estate above Grasse. The quiet and serene atmosphere, encourages relaxation and concentration. A fine day's golf under the shadow of an oak forest and the smell of Grasse's perfumes.

Ski: *SKI

The skiing-region of GREOLIÈRES-LES-NEIGES is a 45 min drive awain from the house. Cross-country-skiing is very popular in the PREALPES DE GRASSE, it is about 30 min away.

Even the Alpine top-resorts like VALBERG, AURON, ISOLA etc. are less than 2 hrs driving away.
