Our home is called 'The Cider House' The history of it is very interesting? It was built in 1910 as an apple cider factory.
We are located on 10 beautiful acres in the wonderful town of Mosier, just five miles from downtown Hood River.
You will be right across the street from Rock Creek Beach, known for its world class windsurfing and kite boarding. The historic twin tunnels trail head (5 miles paved, hiking and biking only) connecting Mosier and Hood River is at your door step. . You will also be a walk away from a great coffee shop, an excellent restaurant, a market , and a pub with 13 micro brews on tap!
This home is heaven for both kids and adults, with a great basketball court and a large grass lawn bordered by a stream. It's perfect for croquet, bocce ball, or just for relaxing
The house has 4 bedrooms, a library/office, and 2.5 baths. The master suite has a king bed and private bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, the third has 2 twin beds, and the 4th has a full bed. The 2nd bath has a tub with a shower. There is a half bath on the main level.
The kitchen and dining room have french doors opening onto the deck. It is a lovely space for family and friends to gather. You will find everything you need for cooking great meals at home.
There is a relaxing deck with a gas BBQ overlooking the lawn, stream, pond, and garden area.
The home is equipped with high speed internet, a plasma flat screen T.V. with a bluray player and a stereo. The living room is comfortable and inviting.

We absolutely love living here! We spend most of our non working time in our sailboat or on the water in some other fashion!
Lisa purchased this chateau / country house in 2000
The house and property were as advertised. Wish there would have been some wind for windsurfing (rock creek launch is just around the corner), but sometimes that is how the wind gods like to play. Our kids loved the swings and outside play area. We will keep this one on our list of places to stay in the future.
Our family had a wonderful time staying at 'The Cider House'. The owner of the house was extremely kind and very knowledgable about the area. The booking arrangements went smoothly. We were traveling with two small children and a family member who has limited mobility. We felt that the house was accommodating to everyone in our party.
The home itself is lovely. The artwork inside is wonderful and the whole home is extremely clean. The wooden floors in the kitchen provide a warm feeling that is present throughout the entire house.
We would definitely consider staying here sometime in the future.
I stayed here with a few friends while attending a friend's wedding nearby. The home was amazing. It had more than enough room for the five of us. The kitchen was well stocked (it even included a waffle maker for waffles our first morning). There was also plenty of outdoor space and a great porch to spend time on. Additionally it was only a short drive from all of the wedding festivities and other activities in Hood River.
I live on the east coast and may not return to Hood River in the near future, but if I do I would definitely try to stay here again.
I have rented vrbo's for years and always been happy with the ones I chose. This home however was hands down the most charming and comfortable of all. My family all agreed. Every inch is the house is tidy, well appointed. You will lack for nothing. The original art pieces throughout were very appealing to me as an artist myself. The privacy and seclusion were a bonus too!
My husband windsurfs and has been wanting to rent a house in the Gorge for years. We've stayed at various hotels, lodges, cabins, and campgrounds from Cascade Locks to Maryhill. This was by far our favorite landing spot! We have three kids and let them each bring a friend. It was a full house, but plenty of room for everyone. Lisa has it well stocked with everything from shampoo to coffee beans :)! The location was great for windsurfing and biking. The basketball court and tree swings kept the kids busy outside when we were not out and about. I find myself describing the house as "simple elegance" or "comfortable and cozy". It really is a "home" and has a great vibe. Thank you Lisa and John for sharing your home, we had a great time!

My friends and I were traveling to Oregon to run a trail 50K through the Columbia River gorge, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect retreat to relax and recover in than Lisa's home!
THANK YOU for such a wonderful, fantastic stay. I absolutely fell in love with the house when I walked in! It was exactly what I had pictured, and honestly it is totally my dream house. I loved looking at all of Lisa's wonderful family portraits throughout the house. It looks like she has such a happy, outgoing family.
Lisa was kind enough to lay out a selection of Clif bars, and it was SUCH a wonderful touch. The attention to detail Lisa paid in her house and in her welcoming us was so nice. It felt like we were really coming into a home and not just a house. I loved looking through all Lisa's books, I put a few on my wishlist for myself ;)
Zoro is such a heartbreaker!!! What an adorable kitty. We had so much fun sitting outside and playing with him. We also got a chance to run up the little bike bath that is right outside of the house all the way out to the bridge and the overlook to the river. Gorgeous!!!
Incredible Road Biking, Mt. Biking and Kiteboarding/windsurfing (just across the street! No driving necessary!)
