Walk in and be looking at an unobstructed view of the ocean and beach. Most people drop their bags and go directly to the lanai and sit down to listen to the ocean and feel the breeze so that they can immediately relax and get in the island spirit. We are only a 5 minute drive from the airport, and have easy access to all of the island. Our exclusive little condo community has a lovely pool and BBQ area and you can walk down to the local beach to hop in for a quick dip even before you unpack.

We are world travelers and adventurers. We climb the big mountains of the world, are avid skiers, and do a lot of house-swapping with people so that we can be immersed in a culture when we travel. We love Kauai because it's 'down island' culture and because the beaches are the most beautiful in the world. We love to hike, bike and be outside doing stuff - but we also like to flop with a good book.

I've been coming to Kauai for over 20 years, and this location and this view are the best I've found. Despite all our world travels, Kauai is our favorite place on the planet.
Our condo is conveniently close to the airport, and situated in the middle of the island so that you can choose, on any day, which way to go to the beach depending on where the sun is shining.
You HAVE to book this unit if you are looking for an updated, well located, gorgeous unit with a SPECTACULAR view! The ocean is right outside your patio. SO PRIVATE compared to some of the other ocean view units in other complexes. There is a small greenbelt right below the unit. No foot traffic below your unit so you feel like you have a PRIVATE window to your own personal ocean. We had most of our meals on the patio and could not beat the view here at ANY restaurant. The furniture is comfortable and newer. The bed is SO COMFORTABLE! The complex and pool area is also kept up and well maintained. A great location on the East side of the island. We could drive to either the North, South within 45 minutes and the West in about 1.5 hrs. The owner, Jennifer is so great to work with. We had some last minute problems with our daughter's illness and she was so flexible and generously worked with us on new dates. She addressed any questions we had so quickly. This was a GREAT VRBO experience and was just as it was described. Only problem was that we wished we could have stayed longer!!!
I booked this condo for the last two nights of a ten day stay in Kauai and it was a last minute booking. Before booking the place, I tried to talk to the owner about the condo as it is always nice to establish repoire with the owner before renting just in case there are any problems. However, the owner was unable to accept my phone calls and instead suggested that we talk via email as she was too busy to talk. I got it: It is an inexpensive rental and we were staying two nights: no need to bother her for little things:
So then the week passes on Kauai and we check in. We are relaxed, not sweating the small stuff, but I did find it unusual that so many things were off in the condo including:
1. Door to Shower: One door would only open 1/2 way.
2. Numerous forks were crooked, as if they had been put in the garbage disposal.
3. Most of the pots and pans were very scratched up with teflon coating missing in many places.
4. The entertainment center rattled and rolled when we walked past it on the way to the balcony.
5. Fan in the shower was intermittent at times, meaning it just turned on and off randomly when the switch was on.
6. Beach chairs on the balcony ( red and blue): Were bent as if two very large people had used them before us and broken them. We discovered this on the last day of our stay when we picked them up.
As this was the end of our trip and we were not in the condo that much, and since the owner had not taken our calls, we just decided to let those items go. The day we checked out ( the morning before), the property manager came into our condo to give us our parking pass ( thanks, 2 days late, but no big deal as it had already told us not to worry about it) and he came into our living room and then left after we chatted for 5 minutes.
So we check out, and were in a bit of a rush and did not clean the kitchen ( so yes we could have cleaned a bit more, that I admit).Then two days later I get a phone call from the owner. She claimed that we damaged the entire unit, that we broke her coffee grinder among many other things which she could not at that time remember, and that she had to hire a special cleaning crew to come in and assess the damage. She claims the damage was so bad that her next occupant who was to be there 21 days didn't want the place and that I should be liable for that.
Wanna hear the funny part The only thing she said was broken, was the coffee grinder that we bought and left there!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The condo was exactly as described. Enjoyed cool seabreeze during day and A/C at night when we preferred the widows and shades closed. You can walk right to the beach down a short path at the side of the condos. Short drive to many other beaches and sites on the island.
Our first trip to the "Garden Isle", we were very happy with our condo. It is exactly as advertised. We found it to be very comfortable for two people, well stocked kitchen and the goodies needed for a beach vacation were great. Loved listening to the sounds of the waves off the lanai, when you come in the front door all you see is the ocean! We used the BarBque a few times down by the pool, it was very nice. We found the location to be perfect for exploring the island north or south, traffic is busy but you just get use to it and just "go with the flow". We loved all the restaurants and cafe/bakery that were just across the street from us, nice to be able to walk to places. Highly recommend the the Hanuliki Lanai! Delicious, and wonderful walk along the beach to it! The owner is so great with all the info she sent us & answering promptly any questions I had. The wifi worked awesome too! Only little negative thing is probably the traffic noise, sometimes it was there & other times the crushing of the waves drowned it out!
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this place. Rented bikes and basically only got into our car a couple of times to go to the north end and west end beaches. Centrally located to stores, restaurants and beaches. Lydgate Beach is a short bike ride and miles of beautiful sand. The place is very nicely appointed with nice Hawaiian furniture and comfortable with everything you need. Nice pool and comfy bed. Spent most of our time on the lanai watching the boogie boarders and surfers or hanging on the beach. The property folks are super nice and helpful. Newer building and well maintained. Great deal!!!!
Thirty-five years after dozens of vacations with our kids on Kauai, mostly at the WBV condos, when six could be accommodated, my wife and I returned for an early 50th weddng anniversary. We're now 78 and 80 and had to forego the body surfing, ocean swimming and hiking we used to enjoy, although the condo has beach and water equipment. This condo is in high demand, and we were fortunate to find an open week that matched our schedule. It was easy to communicate with the owner, who set up a convenient payment schedule for us. The condo was clean and well-equipped. With louvers and shutters on the front door and bedroom windows and a double door opening onto the lanai, over-looking Wailua Beach, there always was a cool, refreshing breeze through the condo. We used the bedroom A/C only one night, when the breeze was still. The owner provided lots of information and helpful personal recommendations on where to go and what to do, prompting the quick return of
pleasant memories. The condo is one floor above ground level, in this three story facility, an easy stair climb even for these old knees. The WBV facility is well maintained. The pool was clean and fresh and long enough for me to swim my daily laps. And the pool area had lots of tables, chairs/lounges which made it a comfortable setting for R & R after a long day. There can be some external noise, because the facility is only a block or two from the Kuhio Highway. But for us, that was an acceptable trade-off in order to enjoy the secure parking, only steps from our condo; easy access to Wailua Beach and the new walking trail that follows the ocean north to Kapaa; a short stroll to restaurants and shops a block or two away; and a quick drive to the Coconut Marketplace, supermarkets, stores, shops and restaurants on the way to Kapaa, WBV's central location makes it an easy drive to visit attractions on any other part of the island. Mainlanders may be shocked by the grocery prices, but there are lots of local Farmers Markets nearby, where fresh papaya, mangos, banannas, etc are priced by the item, often lower than the price-per-pound prices charged at the supermarkets. Kauai has only one high rise resort, and you seldom see tourist buses. Most gratifying, there are no long lines of people following a tour guide. We had checked this off our Bucket List, as the last visit to our favorite island. But we're already planning a return to Kauai and the Wailua Bay View Condos.
