Rural retreat getaway

The property is situated in a lovely position, hidden away up a track , with great views all around.
The property inside is of a good standard however there were a few problems with towel rails falling off onto bare feet as they hadn't been repaired. Also the welcome pak was stuffed into a cupboard so we had no idea about the area, or how to control heating,etc.
Th hottub was a lovely treat, but no one checked on it daily so when we used it Friday and went to use it again Sunday, it was stone cold. Hot Tubs are meant to be maintained daily.
Overall the property was lovely, but we all felt it was let down by not very good maintenance or customer support.
Once things have been repaired, and cleaned, this could be a real luxury retreat xxx

Owner's Response: We are so sorry about the towel rail. and were not aware they required repairing, this is the first notification.

Under normal circumstances the hot tub does not need to be checked daily, an instruction sheet is provided and we ask that we are contacted immeditely if any issues or concerns. The issue here was that the water level had gone below the safe level during use by the party on the Friday evening. As soon as we were notified it was corrected.

With refertence to the Welcome Pack being in a cupboard, we can only apologise and wish that the guests had asked us about it when we met them.

I can assure any future guests that the Welcome information pack will be on the table along with the wine, chocolate, crisps etc.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Cottages were a great venue for a large gathering of family and friends. Well-maintained, clean and thoughtfully decorated. Farm, countryside and swimming pool lots of fun.

Fab farm holiday

A beautiful place to stay with stunning views. Warm welcome from owners and animals!! We stayed with our two children aged 3 and 6 and we couldn't really keep them indoors- they loved watching the cows coming in for milking, hearing the sheep in the nearby field, petting the horses, dog and cat and of course, we all loved the swimming pool which was clean and which we had sole use of. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped with plenty of games/movies for a rainy day. We have been back twice and will return again.

lovely barn conversion set on a farm location, clean and tidy ,child friendly.
from the childrens point of view 8 and 13 years old the swimming pool was the best, indoor and heated.
i would recommend thiss property to family and friends and would consider visiting it again in the future.

Peak View a luxury treat

We really enjoyed our stay at Peak View,by far the best accomodation we have stayed in. Host offered a warm welcome including complementary welcome food pack. The accomodation was spotless, of an extremely high standard and had everything we could need and more for a relaxing stay. We took a young baby and it was ideal, with a cot and high chair, and even a bag of toys. The swimming pool was warm and clean and real bonus.
We are planning on going back soon, would highly recommend.

Originally part of the Duke of Norfolk estate’ the barn is situated in the small hamlet of Hollow Meadows, just 4 miles from Ladybower Reservoir in the lovely Peak District National Park and the famous Snake Pass, yet only 15mins from Sheffield City Centre. A great location for easy accesss to all areas including Ponds Forge Leisure Centre. But if you want to relax you can snuggle on the sofa and watch a film. Sit at the table and eat a great meal or relax in the hot tub in the open air.

Nearly 700 lime trees line the Rivelin valley, making it the second longest lime tree avenue in Britain. Hollow Meadows holds a scattering of smallholdings, farms and dwellings and is ideal for exploring many bridleways and footpaths. Nearby are the impressive dam at Ladybower, used by the 'Dambuster' squadron to practise for their raid on the Ruhr Dams in 1945, and Hathersage, believed to have inspired Charlotte Bronte to write Jane Eyre. Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, and Sheffield, with its attractions and exciting nightlife, are only a short drive away.
