2 and 3 bedroom luxury apartments, sleeps 5-7,balconies magnificent sea view.

Number 20 and 28 Nautilus are two separate duplex apartments in a luxury development of 28 contemporary apartments adjacent to a magnificent sandy beach at Westward Ho! These holiday apartments are owned and furnished by the architect. In 2005 the building won the only Royal Institute of British Architects annual award for architecture in Devon and Cornwall. It has been featured in numerous publications. The apartments are exceptionally spacious, the sculptured roof creates an exciting interior with huge windows to make the most of the sea view. There are three balconies including an external sea facing terrace on the living level with table and chairs for 'al fresco' dining and to enjoy the magnificent sea view and sunsets.

Golf course 5 minute drive, approx. 10 min walk.: This is The Royal North Devon Golf Club which is the oldest golf course in England and very attractive.

Entertainment for children: There is plenty to keep children amused, the apartment is fully equipped for families including WiFi, DVD, digital T.V., board games, next door to Nautilus there is a free indoor soft play zone. Nearby there are many local attractions such as Big Sheep theme park(approx.5 - 10 mins drive), The Milky Way Adventure Park, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Lundy Island Marine Nature Reserve (by boat), RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Tepely Park and Arlington House (National Trust properties). For those who enjoy cycling you can hire bikes in Instow or Bideford to explore the Tarka Trail. Westward Ho! is full of beach activities for children and horse riding on the beach is also possible. Appledore is an attractive fishing village 10 mins away. There is a fast coastal road for access to the magnificent North Devon coast Woolacombe, Croyde, Braunton,Saunton, Clovely and Bude in Cornwall.

What a fantastic property; accurately advertised. Very friendly owners who were approachable and helpful. The apartment was in a superb location, right on the sea front with marvellous views which were ever changing. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday apartment to friends. The surrounding area was beautiful and unspoilt. Not very good eateries surrounding the property so needed a car to travel further afield.

Owner's Response: The "Pot Walloping Restaurant" on Golf links road (only a few minutes walk from Nautilus Appartments) has been highly recomended, it has an interesting menu including excelent fresh seafood. "Memories" Restaurant in Northam (5 mins drive) is recomended and has been listed in the 2009 Michelin Guide.

There are also many Pubs and Takeaways. The fishing village Appledore is only 5-10 mins drive and has several attractive restaurants and pub. We provide a list of eateries both locally and further afield.

Our holiday at 20 Nautilus apartments

We have spent the last three years holidaying at this apartment which we have visited twice each year. We have found the apartment to be first class and very well equipped. It is very central to visiting alot of places of beauty and interest. There are several restaurants, a lovely tea shop and the local chippy are all close at hand. To name but a few, Clovelly, Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe are well worth a visit. Also Dartington Glass is good, especially if you want to treat yourself to that holiday gift. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment to our family and friends. We will in fact be looking forward to our next holiday at number 20. Thankyou to the owners for having a beautiful apartment and for making our holidays perfect.

Stunningly beautiful apartment.

Family holiday before my daughter heads to university, we love the area but the apartment just topped it all of nicely. When you first walk in to the property the views from the lounge are simply stunning, you look out to sea and just let the relaxation begin. Cannot fault the place and the owners were fabulous, we had all the details if they were needed but otherwise it was down to you to enjoy. We loved the local pub just 100 yards away, great food too and we tried lots of the different places to eat and loved them all. If you could order the weather you would never go abroad again.

Outstanding!

This is a truly stunning apartment, spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly need. The owners are delightful and a pleasure to deal with. Westward Ho! is the perfect chill out destination, with an absolutely beautiful beach and lots of nice restaurants to choose from. Our biggest trauma was deciding which ice cream to try. Don't ponder whether to book this apartment, just do it. You could not possibly regret it.

What a view!

Thanks a lot for a very nice sonny summer week at 20 Nautilus. We have all (Danish family of 5) had a very good stay at your lovely apartment. And what a view – 180° Sea View! I have never been so interested in the tides before! But sitting there at the balcony, and just follow the tides – that’s relaxing. The apartment was very well equipped (and so very nice with 2 bathrooms and washing machine), and one of the few places where everything just is ok!
We have spent lots of time on the beach, in Westward Ho!, but also visited Clovelly, Appledore and Exeter in Devon. We even had a trip to Lands End and Eden Project – but that was a long drive…
We have daily used the very friendly local Co-op, and other locally shops. And as dining, we can highly recommend “the Pig on the Hill” – excellent food, and service.
Our week at Westward Ho! was our first visit to England. And after this it’s for sure not the last.
We can only highly recommend this lovely apartment!

Nautilus 20, great apartment!

We ( family of 4) had a very comfortable week in Nautilus 20. The apartment is spacious, very well equipped and in a great location for both local amenities and sightseeing. However, for me the best part was the view from the sofa - an uninterrupted view of the sea through the floor to ceiling window, absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed fish n chips from the shop round the corner, had a delicious cream tea from the retro cafe also just round the corner and our children enjoyed the short walk ( literally across the road) to the beach, ice cream shop and seaside amusements. We found lovely pubs within a short drive from Westward Ho for the evenings...particularly in Appledore. We also enjoyed a coastal walk from the apartment to Mermaid Pool and back along the Kipling Tors. Clevelly was a lovely day out, as was our trip to Bideford. All in all, a great week. Thank you to the owners for quickly dealing with our last minute booking. This is the first holiday apartment we have stayed in that we would consider returning to!

Westward Ho! is a seaside town a few miles from Bideford and ten miles from Barnstaple, North Devon's main town. Westward Ho!'s main attraction is the ten mile beach which gained 'blue flag' status five years ago. It is host of a range of water and beach sports such as surfing, windsurfing, sand yachting, kite flying and of course swimming to name just a few. The North Devon coastal footpath is accessible from the town and not far away are the picturesque villages of Hartland and Clovelly. A slightly longer drive takes you to Exmoor unbeatable for walking, riding, fishing etc. Famous coastal towns such as Lynmouth, Ilfracommbe and Porlock are also found there. Westward Ho! has all the usual facilities such as supermarket etc. and it has many pubs and restaurants serving good fresh food and the fish and chips are excellent. Instow and Barnstaple have a variety of restaurants and for those seeking something special, The Masons Arms, on Exmoor (michelin star) is well worth the journey.
