Superbly located within a 10 minute walk to restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, supermarket, butchers and the gorgeous award winning Blue Flag Manta Rota beach with its endless soft sandy beaches. If you don't fancy walking to the beach there is ample car parking facilities next to the beach.

Splendidly situated in a private and electronically gated condominium completed in 2008 of only 12 town houses each with own car parking space and gated and secure swimming pool.

Our lovely town house villa is a great choice for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Baby's Cot and Highchair is already at our holiday home and available for use at no extra cost.

Our fabulous luxury town house villa benefits from 3 spacious terraces as well as 3 good size bedrooms with baby's cot, large comfortable living room, dining room, baby's highchair, separate well equipped kitchen/breakfast room, 2 bathrooms with showers and 3 wc's.

The living room has 3 large three-seater sumptuous leather sofas for your comfort and solid oak occasional tables, a Samsung 32' wall mounted LCD TV with Portuguese Spanish and programmes and English freeview satellite channels, Samsung DVD/CD player complete with a collection of DVD's, music CD's and books already there for your enjoyment during your holiday.

The dining room has solid reclaimed oak dining room table and chairs which comfortably seat 6 people.

The two main bedrooms have their own access to the Mid Floor Terrace affording easterly views. The third bedroom has its own West facing terrace with stunning views over the surrounding countryside of orange groves and the sea beyond.

There is a private West facing Ground Floor Patio Terrace with a built in brick BBQ with table and reclining chairs affording dining for 6 people - perfect for al fresco dining during the warm Algarve evenings.

And for the end of the day, there is a Roof Top Terrace with stunning views to watch the sunset with a glass or two of wine or a good book; this is the perfect recipe for a quiet and relaxing wonderful Algarve family holiday.

The swimming pool has sunbeds around with outdoor lighting for the hours of darkness.

Manta Rota in the eastern Algarve has one of the most stable climates in the world making it an ideal year-round beach holiday destination.

The maximum recorded temperatures in the Algarve fluctuate between 25 °C in winter and 48 °C in summer. The winters are usually short and mild. Perfect!

From our fabulous holiday home, one can take a 10 minute easy stroll to the uncrowded, seemingly endless sea front and amazing award winning Manta Rota Blue Flag beach situated in an unspoilt dune protected area.

Whilst on the beach, you can take a leisurely stroll to Monte Gordo's beach (5 miles / 8kms) east and/or Cabanas de Tavira's beach (5 miles / 8kms) west.

Not many people know this but the eastern Algarve is a well kept secret on the Algarve surfing scene, who are attracted by its quietness and warm sea temperatures.

The eastern Algarve has the warmest sea temperatures in the Algarve, with the average local sea temperature being 17-20 °C.

Between my holiday home and the fabulous award winning Manta Rota beach is a supermarket, butchers, shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The supermarket opens until 8pm / 2000hrs (closes for lunch between 1pm / 1300hrs - 3pm / 1500hrs), caters for most peoples basic needs and opens every morning at 8.30am / 0830hrs.

Manta Rota is a small village and quiet Algarve beach resort yet within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of the following neighbouring places to visit:-

Monte Gordo (5 miles / 8 kms) with its casino and beach; also

the elegant 18th century city of Vila Real de Santo Antonio (6 miles /10 kms) and

the medieval city of Ayemonte (Spain 13 miles / 20 kms)

with their picturesque marinas, extensive pedestrianized shopping and restaurant facilities, both towns are located on the Guadiana River which borders and separates Portugal with Spain.

Neighbouring Villages include Vila Nova de Cacela which is the next town inland from Manta Rota situated about only 800 metres from your next holiday home. Vila Nova de Cacela has pubilc access to the Internet and the town has its own market on the 3rd Sunday of every month, get there early as it gets very busy!

The next coastal village along from Manta Rota is Cacela Velha, an old fishing village situated in the protected Ria Formosa coastal landscape which is an important wetland where migratory birds can be observed in abundance and Cacela is one of the best preserved seaside villages in the whole of the Algarve.

The pretty cobbled medieval village of Castro Marim on the banks of the Guadiana River is overlooked by two hilltop castles dating back to the 13th century. The buildings in the town are predominantly white, with flashes of ochre and luminous blue. The sandstone walls above Castro Marim enclose the first headquarters of the Military order of Christ, heirs to the Templars in Portugal. The Castro Marim golf course runs through undulating hills and calls for careful play with strategically places water hazards, fairway terrain and well places bunkers.

If you are looking for culture, the elegant historic town of 'Algarvan Rome' Tavira (9 miles / 14kms) being authentically Portuguese, sits on two hills connected by a seven-arched 'Roman' (actually Moorish) bridge over the the River Gilao boasting many fine 18th century buildings along with its 37 churches.

The eastern Algarve is also famous for its pottery and ceramics, particularly hand-painted pottery and azulejos or tiles. There are numerous ceramics and pottery outlets throughout the Algarve, including a shop in Manta Rota.

Local markets in eastern Algarve include: Loule every Saturday; Moncarapacho 1st Sunday of the month; Castro Marim 2nd Saturday of the month; Estoi 2nd Sunday of the month; Tavira 3rd Saturday of the month; Vila Nova de Cacela 3rd Sunday of the month; Santa Catarina 4th Sunday of the month; Queles 4th & 5th Sundays of the month.

    Cancellation fees:
    8 or more weeks notice - no cancellation fee
    4 - 8 weeks notice - 50% of rental refunded
    4 or less weeks notice - no refund.

    Occupancy level stated and agreed at the time of booking cannot and must not be exceeded. Failure to abide by this will result in the immediate termination of the rental and the requirement to vacate the premises. No refund will be offered for any breach of the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Saturday to Saturday bookings preferred during the peak school summer holiday months of July and August.

    English and Portuguese speaking 'Meet & Greet' staff will meet you upon your arrival at Luna Mar Manta Rota to hand the keys over to you and answer any questions you may have.

Bathroom 1 is located on the First Floor being fully tiled and complimented with his 'n' hers (Jack & Jill) wash hand basins, WC, bidet and bath with shower facility & screen over; Bathroom 2 is located on the Ground Floor and again is fully tiled featuring a built-in double size shower enclosure, WC and wash hand basin; Bathroom 3 is located on the Top Floor, handy when your sun bathing on the top terrace, and is complete with WC and wash hand basin; There is also an enclosed Shower outside located on the West facing Ground Floor Patio / Terrace - suitable for us (those) who make a real mess of themselves when cooking on the BBQ !!!

Have just come back from a two week family holiday in the townhouse. We found the property to be extremely well maintained, clean and of a very high standard. Graham was very helpful prior to our departure and whilst we were at the townhouse, Kate was on hand to help with any queries. The villa is perfectly situated - in a quiet location yet near to all the restaurants, beach and supermarket.
We did hire a car and visited all the local areas (ferry ride in Tavira to the small island is a must if you are a beach lover) but also enjoyed our 15 minute evening stroll to the town where there are numerous restaurants - our favourite being Sem Espinhas - definitely worth a visit. I would recommend the villa and would go back.

Great Townhouse well located in Manta Rota

We found the townhouse ideal for our family party. The accommodation was of a high standard, spacious with good outside private space for relaxing and dining. The location in Manta Rota was good for bars restaurants and supermarket as well as the beach. A good selection of restaurants within walking distance. We would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Monta Rota Holiday.

Our family myself my wife and our 4 children ages from 20 to 9 stayed in the townhouse in early June for 1 week. What a fantastic time we all had, the property was of the highest standed everything you could want and lots of space for all. The location was perfect for us as we didn't want to hire a car and the beach was only a 15 min stroll away and what a fantastic beach!!!! The property was clean and furnished to a high standed. All you could want was only a 10/15 min walk away. We would all recommend this property to fellow travellers.

Relaxing spring Holidays in Manta Rota

We have spent our spring holidays in April 2012 again in this cosy holiday home and enjoyed it as we did last year - so we knew that the description was accurate regarding the location, layout and facilities. Everything was clean, the taking-over of the keys was no problem.

We were much enjoyed being in the house and really felt at home. Manta Rota is a nice place to stay, not too touristically with some good restaurants and a beautiful beach. As it is surrounded by several golf courses, the most difficult thing was the decision, which one to play first.

We had a very relaxing time in Manta Rota - might also be caused to the fact that there is no internet access in the house. So you are not tempted to have a quick look in the mails - which we both found really relaxing.

We will definitely be back one day and we would recommend the location and the holiday home to our friends.

The very reason I stop myself from installing wi-fi is because if I did it wouldn't be a holiday home any more, it would just be another place to read emails; so yes, because there's no w-fi it allows one more time to enjoy oneself whilst on holiday rather than staying indoors reading emails. And as you most probably know, there's always the public free internet room within easy walking distance in Vila Nova de Cacela if one needs to read/send an email. We look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back & have you stay yet again!

My family and myself have just returned from a two week holiday over the christmas period. and we were all very impressed with the villa. It is eactly how it looks on the internet. it is of a very high standard. The patio area is very private and a lovely sun trap. Manta Rota is al lovely clean place. We did not have a car, so we used the local buses and taxis, very reasonable and no problem. The local supermarket in Manta Rota is very reasonable and lots of choice. We used the Mars Bar restaurant in Manta Rota and were very impressed. Graham gave us a number for local taxi service from airport that was excellent. Jackie who meets you at the villa is english and very friendly. We will definately go back and would highly recommend the villa to anybody.
