Villa with pool & Air-Conditioning, Mauritius, Sleeps 8, 3 mins.beach

Villa great, best equipment. Shyam only speaks french, but Mary Rose understands english. Take the offer of Shyam for first grocery for bying al lot of water, beer, wine etc. The march to the supermarket is about 15 minutes, you can find everything. Best restaurant for whole fish ist the ocean at royal road.
A real life with the mauritians (on sunday they make their picnic and barbecue at the beach), all are very friendly.We will come again and has recommended this place (best private pool in the surrounding) to our friends.

Just returned from a two week stay at this terrific apartment on the sunny west coast of Mauritius.

The location is just about ideal - no more than a 5 minute stroll to a fantastic beach with loads of shady spots under the trees to relax. There are quite a number of restaurants & bars all along the sea front and within easy walking distance from the apartment - although at the time we were down there (late October) these were unexpectedly quiet - & some almost deserted. No doubt things will be a mite livelier the further you get into the high season.

The town can get much busier on the weekends as the locals head to the beach - & we also had two weekdays when we were there which were public holidays when there were large numbers camping out on the grassy area between the main road and the beach - but even then it didnt feel at all crowded - if anything it added to the holiday experience as we felt more immersed in the local culture.

The apartment itself had everything we could have asked for - & provided ample space for our party of 7 adults plus a baby - the bedrooms are all suprisingly spacious and all have their own balcony. We spent hours every day in the wonderful pool & the whole complex is very well maintained & secure with 24 hour security - & we were soon on first name terms with the very friendly security guards on the gate.

Booking a privately owned apartment always involves a calculated risk - but we have to mention the superb customer service from Brigitte, who couldnt possibly have been more helpful throughout - particularly while we were dithering over precise dates. Shyam & Mari Rose, Brigitte's local agents were also very friendly, helpful & reliable - & on our day of departure they were there at the ungodly hour of 5.45 am - precisely as agreed - to collect the keys and take us to the airport.


Needless to say we would thoroughly recommend this apartment which offers excellent value for money and is a perfect base from which to enjoy the wonderful island of Mauritius - just a shame its such a long way away !

Nous y étions en avril 2011 en famille pendant 10 jours...seul défaut pas de lave vaisselle...!!! Mais j'etais prevenue :-)
Shyam est très acceuillant et son épouse une très bonne cuisinière !!
La plage est très très proche ... la residence est bien au calme... les chambres sont grandes et la maison est très bien entretenue..elle est bien située car proche des restaurants notamment le resto Pépé que l'on recommande !!
De Flic en Flac vous avez la possibilité d'aller faire pas mal d'excursions, comme nage avec les dauphins, le mini safari à Casela, les chutes de la riviere noire...
Je dois souligner egalement la grande gentillesse et disponibilité de la proprietaire...ma fille de 6 ans avait oublié un doudou et il nous a été reexpedié par la poste...
Très appréciable aussi un petit livret d'informations est fourni avec un plan et des indications pour vos sorties et vos courses..
C'est pourquoi je recommande cette maison :-)
