Villa Talludden is a beautiful Carl Larsson-style house, stunningly situated on a secluded tounge of land, overlooking the inlet to Stockholm. The house was built in 1913 by Gustaf Lindgren, a well-known Swedish architect, as his own summer house. It has recently been totally but carefully restored, and has been featured in several interior magazines. The house has large private grounds, with garden and parklands, and a private waterfront. The bottom floor consists of living room, dining room, study and a large kitchen. The second floor has a large library/TV-room, three bedrooms and a large bathroom. From six out of seven rooms you have a stunning sea view. There is a brand new guesthouse and a sauna by the sea. The property lies just outside the old little town of Vaxholm, which has a variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Stockholm is just 30 minutes drive. away. One of Stockholms finest golf courses is just five minutes away, next to the medieval castle of Bogesund.
Communications and boat life: Stockholm is only half an hours drive away, but you can also take a regular boat service, either with a modern speed boat or a classical steam boat. The boat ride takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour. The little town Vaxholm, with only 5 000 inhabitants is five minutes drive, or 10 minutes on a bike. There are many possibilities to rent a boat or a sailing yacht, but this is best arranged in advance. The Stockholm Archipelago is the most extraordinary marine world in this part of Europe. There are more than 24 000 islands in an area that is about the same as Greater London. There are numerous possibilities of day excursions with Waxholmsbolaget, the shipping company that runs the regular boat service. You can for example take a steamer to the lovely island of Sandhamn with all its charming wooden houses and nice sand beaches.
Weather: June, July and August are fantastic summer months. The sun rises before 4 in the morning and sets long after nine in the evening in the middle of summer.
