Bald eagles are being sighted frequently all through the winter and spring of 2012 at low tide by the ocean and apparently they go fishing as a pair to fed their eaglets that must be high up in a tree behind the cottages, they fly overhead above the trees year round now, many types of bushes and flowers and plants have been planted in the last few years, by the houses and on the way to the ocean, 3 types of lavender including the one used to make perfume, 4 different flowering colors each of heather and butterfly bushes, foxglove, menardis and osobe, many of which draw hummingbirds and butterflies in season and other varieties of flowers.

Local lighthouses (Owl's Head, Rockland Breakwater and Marshall's Point), Camden Hills State Park, Farnsworth Art Museum are some favorite day trip destinations. Nearby towns like Camden and Rockland are fun to explore and do some souvenir and antique shopping. Acadia National Park is only a few hours away.
