From the moment you arrive, you immediately sense the Aloha spirit and the other-worldliness of Kauai's North Shore; Hanalei Bay Villas' surroundings are stunning and beyond beautiful. The unique charm, ideal location, and dramatic beauty provide an island experience to be treasured.
Hanalei Bay Villa #29 is situated above a tree top canopy revealing an expansive view of the awe-inspiring North Shore Mountains adorned with waterfalls and often rainbows. The house also opens onto the ocean bluff, within sight of the dazzling blue Pacific and trail access to a hidden beach below.
Just beyond the front door is a scenic overlook blessed daily with a spectacular sunset over Mt Makana and which provides an ideal vantage point to witness humpback whales breaching and world class surfers in the breaks just off the coastline. Of course, the sparkling Pacific colors are always brilliant and, at times, you are likely to see dolphins, sea turtles, and an occasional monk seal.
There are three beautiful public beaches within close walking distance. A steep but short hiking trail leads to Kenomene beach, known as 'Hideaways' and 'Pali Ke Kua', ideal for basking on the warm golden sands or resting under the large shade trees. This 300' stretch of beach is divided by a rock outcropping and offers great snorkeling and coastal views. Pu'u Poa Beach on Hanalei Bay, another beautiful sandy beach located in front of the St Regis Princeville Resort, can be accessed by a staircase or resort elevator. Follow the foot trail around the bay and during low tide you can wade across the Hanalei River to Hanalei Pier & Beach Pavilion. Here you can rent sea kayaks, boogie boards, surf boards and stand-up paddle boards to play on the bay.
Within the Princeville community you will also find gems such as Queen’s Bath, Sea Lodge Beach, Wyllie Beach, and the award winning Prince and Maka'i golf courses. A full service spa, jogging path, fitness circuit, community tennis, basketball and volleyball courts are also close by. The Princeville shopping center offers grocery store, gas station, specialty boutiques, art galleries, fine-dining restaurants, and casual courtyard cafes.
Truly, all the wonders of the North Shore are within two to twelve scenic miles of the villa; including the pristine Na Pali Coast and the Kalalau Trailhead, the quaint town of Hanalei, Limahuli National Tropical Botanical Gardens, Kilauea Lighthouse, and many more hiking trails and beautiful beaches to explore.
This completely remodeled villa includes state-of-the-art kitchen, contemporary baths, high-end furnishings, and luxurious bedding. Numerous louvered windows with 3M UV protection film, cooling trade winds, ceiling fans, and cathedral ceilings keep the home bright, fresh, and comfortable. A/C in the master suite and second bedroom for additional sleeping comfort if desired.

Aloha! from Durango, Colorado. The North Shore of Kaua'i has stolen our hearts and is that 'happy place' we visit mentally while off island, where we spend our precious family vacations, and hope to spend our golden years. In the meantime, we invite you to share in the beauty, spirit, and splendor of this amazing place with the ones you hold most dear.
Donna Chase purchased this house in 2012
We were captivated by the phenomenal views and premier oceanfront location in Princeville. We also found this particular property to be delightfully superior to the average Kaua'i vacation rental providing a true home away from home experience.
*Offers luxurious accommodations at a fraction of resort cost.
*Provides intimacy and casual comfort of a private stand alone home.
*Refreshing elegant interior.
*Air conditioned bedrooms for additional comfort.
*Assigned off street parking.
*Excellent locale adjacent to the St. Regis Resort with spa, restaurants, lounge, and entertainment.
*Beaches, shopping, golf, and casual dining nearby.
*Easy access to all north shore attractions.
*On island caretaker and expert housekeeping services.
We spent the second week of our Hawaii vacation on Kaua'i. It is a wonderful island. As frequent users of rental vacation homes we have come to appreciate the difference between homes managed by owners versus those managed by "Managers/Management companies". There is no comparison and the Chase's are at or near the top in the owner's we have dealt with. The Chase's Hawaii home has the sense that they just left it, meaning there is no locked cupboard full of stuff they do not want you to use. They fully share all the equipment you need to enjoy the beach and their home; everything it is good quality and well cared for. My wife who is a passionate cook was happy with the very well equipped and stocked kitchen (excellent quality knives, pots, frying pans, and very good appliances). Very good quality mattresses, linens and towels. We enjoyed many meals basking in the stunning mountain views. You truly have a sense of a tropical paradise from the back deck/balcony. Our family enjoyed morning coffees listening to the birds (especially roosters) basking in the air and view. The only small caveat would be if you are emphatic about ocean views from the comfort of the home, while you do have an ocean view from the front door it is slightly limited. Also Princeville is a development but Hanalei (a great town) is a short drive away. We would rent this home again
Wonderful vacation rental! Very clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We felt as if we were in someone's home. The kitchen had everything we needed. We originally planned to visit in Feb 2014 but had to cancel 2 week before due to emergency surgery. The Chase family was great to work with when we had to reschedule. We enjoyed the Dolphin restaurant, best Ahi ever! The Napali trail was more strenuous than I thought it would be....be prepared! We had an amazing vacation. The view from the back Lanai was beautiful....it never got old! it is helpful to bring a flashlight if you arrive after dark. I would recommend this home.
This house is so far above your average vacation rental, it's hard to describe. First, it is wonderfully located steps from the ocean and the St. Regis and is only a short drive from lovely Hanalei. The back lanai looks into a lush green forest with a stunning view of the mountains. This view is so gorgeous and ever-changing with the sun and the clouds and the rain. I had trouble tearing myself away! The sunrise from the lanai is a wonderful start to the day. The house itself is very clean and has been beautifully maintained and furnished with comfortable attractive furniture that's in great shape. It's nicely decorated and feels as if someone lives there. While we spent most of our time away from the house, it was nice to come back at the end of each day to a place where we could hang out in comfort. As someone who likes to cook and prefers to have a few meals "at home" when on vacation, I loved the very well stocked and furnished kitchen. It had absolutely every kind of dish, glass and serving vessel you could ask for. It also had a good set of knives. The only thing missing was a microplane grater and I bought one while I was there and "donated" it to the house, so now it has one of those, too! The house is thoughtfully stocked with the kinds of things you often want but usually don't have on vacation: candles and matches, beach chairs and mats, coolers, beach towels, water bottles. It was lovely, comfortable and a real find. My friends who stayed across the street at a fancy oceanfront condo in Puu Poa said they liked our house better than theirs (we did, too). What a wonderful place!
What a wonderfully beautiful condo located in the most beautiful place on earth! Couldn't have been happier anywhere else! Prime location right between the ocean & the mountains! No bad view! Condo was very clean and very comfortable! Air conditioning in bedrooms was awesome! We were very thankful for the air conditioning especially after finding out that there is little to none offered anywhere on the island! Bed was very comfortable! Everything you need is right there at your fingertips in this condo! All you need is your bathing suit! Thanks so much for sharing your condo on vrbo! We are so appreciative! We can't wait to go back!!
This is arguably one of the best units in Kauai. Not only is this on the North Shore (great spot to stay) but it's one of the few places we saw that overlooks the ocean out the front (directly across the street) and has an unobstructed view of the mountains from the balcony on the back. Even though it sleeps 5 it's also a great place for a couple; the place is big enough and so nice throughout that you could easy spend days just lounging around in there and enjoying the views without going out and not feel cooped up as you might in a hotel. The unit is super clean, has everything you need (nice kitchen, snorkeling stuff, games, dedicated parking spot, travel books about the island, tv's, etc) and very comfortable. The owner (Donna) is very nice as well and sent great info before we arrived so we could plan the trip. When she saw we had a big storm coming through she even thoughtfully contacted us to see how we were doing and told us where she kept things like candles we might need if the power went out (it didn't) and gave us contact info for a neighbor that could help if we needed anything. Beautiful island, beautiful home, highly recommend it.
Sorry for the delay in writing you but I just wanted to thank you so much for allowing me to rent your beautiful home. You were really so wonderful to work with and made the process extremely easy and stress free. All the information you provide about the area was spot on and so helpful. The home was clean, spacious, and stocked with all the necessary kitchen and beach items. Every morning we would eat breakfast on the deck and look at the mountains/waterfalls. At sunset we would walk across the road and sit on the benches or head down to the St. Regis for a drink poolside. Most importantly for us the location was amazing as we could walk to visit friends at the St. Regis and just take a short drive to the beach, restaurants and shops in Hanalei. My wife and I had such an amazing week in Kauai and we can't wait to take our family back in a few years, we just wish it was closer to the east coast!
