Your own private tropical paradise is a short walk to the beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Hawaii. The beach is a white sand beauty with turquoise waters for your swimming and snorkeling enjoyment. The backdrop is majestic, emerald green mountains, with waterfalls and stunning mountain peaks. We are situated in Haena on the North shore of Kauai, which is surrounded by many spectacular beaches. You will enjoy exploring the natural locations in the area, which include sea caves, waterfalls, breathtaking scenery and endless white sand beaches. At the end of the road is the awesome Napali trail, which begins at Ke'e beach (a beautiful gem). Here you can begin your hike on the edge of the mountains along the Napali coastline where the tropical flora and fauna jungle blend into the multi-blue shades of the Pacific Ocean.
This is first-class luxury with a down home feel! There are floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open to a large covered outside porch with gorgeous views of the lush mountains and waterfalls. There is a large gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, which include an Island with a cook top and a sit-down, glass surfboard-shaped eating table.
Carved palm tree teak wood doors and teak cabinetry along with koa hardwood floors are combined with Bali imported stone features throughout house. Glass vessel sinks in bathrooms and glass tile are mixed with Bali river rock stone detail in the kitchen and baths, which create a modern tropical Hawaiian style beach house environment. The house is elevated for better views and a cooling trade wind airflow throughout the house. There are 17-foot high vaulted ceilings. The house has a large yard with numerous palms and tropical foliage set among landscaped sculptures. An outside bamboo shower with Bali stone floor greets you on your return from the beach, which is located a short stroll away.

Tiki Hale was unique. Respect for wood construction, botanical diversity, light, air, clean, and quiet, garden. Neighborhood setting up against the mountains within earshot (and walking distance) of the beach. Real Hawaii. The owners and caretaker wonderful.

My mom was born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands and I spent my childhood summer vacations in places like Hana and Lanikai which I thought could never be topped. Well I was wrong...this beautiful home is situated in paradise, surrounded by waterfalls, Napali cliff sides and miles and miles of beautiful beaches where the snorkelling is beyond belief! This is truely the old Hawaii..the way the Hawaiians experienced it...no hotels, no crowds, just sheer oneness with nature. We feel so incredibly blessed to have found it! May we be so lucky as to have the opportunity to return again! Tricia McLoughlin Manhattan Beach, CA
Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at this unique home on Kauai, built high on stilts (as most of the homes are, to avoid flooding) and surrounded by lush palm trees and other tropical foliage and flowering trees. The location on the North Shore was ideal for us; after staying at a Maui resort prior we loved the peaceful beauty and more serene nature of Kauai. Proximity to the beach was key for us, and it is a short walk across the street and down a sandy beach path to access one of the best beaches on the island. The house provided beach toys, 2 sets of snorkel equipment, boogie boards for the kids which was welcome! The house is spacious with a nice kitchen, 3 great BR's and a large daybed in the living room which we used for our 3rd child. The view of the mountains is lovely. We originally wanted to rent beach-front but couldn't find anything available; in retrospect living in the "jungle" for a week was a nice contrast and change of scenery to the ocean since we spent so much time at the beach. Like many homes there is no A/C and it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but all the rooms have fans and they help greatly. The nights cool down and are comfortable, although you must run the fans loudly or risk being awakened by the crowing roosters at 5am (which are all over the island). The property manager was wonderful and helpful, and the owner was extremely professional to work with. I highly recommend this rental if you are not looking for the "resort" experience and want a peaceful, unique base from which to explore Kauai. One of the highlights for us was a hike to the Hanakapai falls, which is accessed about 1 mile from the house, and we also loved the Holo Holo boat tour/snorkel trip of the Napali Coast. The scenery is just breathtaking.
We stayed at this home for a week with our 3 young kids, and we had a wonderful time.
The proximity to the beach was great, and the beach never felt crowded. One day, we saw dozens of turtles swimming a few feet from the shore. The sandy beach was great for the kids to play on, and there were shaded spots available for the infant to get out of the sun.
The home itself was really clean, tidy and very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped.
We can't wait for an opportunity to come back to Kauai to explore more of this great island.
My husband and I have never used VRBO before, and this was a wonderful first impression. The home is as listed. All the comforts of home. The house is very well maintained with a lot of attention to detail. The care taker(s) who live below were very nice and helpful. The surroundings of the property are breathtaking. We even had the opportunity to hear one of the neighbors playing her ukulele! The location near Tunnels Beach is ideal, hardly any traffic and very calm beach. Only 2 of us stayed in the home, but with 3 bedrooms there was plenty of room for others. We can't wait to return!
We stayed at this beautiful home with our 4-year old son in mid-April, and it was wonderful. The furniture, the lighting, the artwork and the architecture create an especially inviting high-end comfortable indoor/outdoor living space that perfectly suits the paradise that is Kauai. The location is amazing too - just a short stroll to stunning Tunnels beach, and an easy drive to Hanalei and all of the amazing North shore sites. We were lucky enough to see the blood moon lunar eclipse from the small lanai off the mater bedroom – incredible… We have been daydreaming about Kauai ever since we left, and we certainly hope to stay at this lovely house again on our next visit. Highly recommended!
