About Jim and Jane Campbell

We are Jim and Jane Campbell and we have two sons. The cabin is located on our farm which is a working farm with Angus cattle. We enjoy being hospitable and will make your stay as relaxing as possible.

Jim and Jane Campbell purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jim and Jane Campbell chose Roanoke

We decided to build a log cabin on our property because our view is so wonderful and we wanted to be able to share it.

What makes this cabin unique

We are 1/2 mile off Rt. 460 and close to many restuarants, places to shop, the Peaks of Otter, and Smith Mountain Lake. We have a pond very close to the cabin and there are many places to hike.

You will see lots of wildlife.

I highly recommend this lovely little cabin. So cozy yet convenient and comfortable! We stayed during a snow storm which made it really romantic and we had no worries because we were warm and the road was soon plowed. Using the hot tub when the snow let up was very relaxing and a moment we will surely remember. We thank Jim and Jane for making us feel welcome and comfortable.

Best New Years in a very long time

  • 5 of 5

This property was in the middle of a cattle farm. The way the cabin sits all you see is wilderness. The picture really doesn't do the cabin justice. I had talked to Jim one time before because I was having a problem with my reservation, he put me at ease and fixed everything. I later communicated with Jane, she was so kind and polite. Now the cabin was amazing. My GF and i wanted to be alone so we could enjoy the holiday. It is very private and secluded, great for walks, relaxing on the front porch or even in the hot tub (which was awesome at night staring at the stars). The bed was to kill for, thought I was going to have to drag my GF off it with a truck. We already discussed going back even before we got unpacked. Thank you Jim and Jane for a very special place for couples to reconnect.

Great weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here on a trip to Roanoke to celebrate our anniversary, and could not have picked a better spot. The cabin is so warm and cozy, the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and the perfect counter balance to the hustle and bustle of downtown Roanoke. We did not want to leave when Sunday morning rolled around, and are already planning our next return visit! Jim and Jane could not be nicer and were very accommodating hosts!

Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful and relaxing trip. Although the weather prohibited us from hiking, we were just happy staying in this beautiful, clean, modern cabin. Hot tub was unbelievable! Thank you for everything and will be back.

Can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

We went here seeking a little peace and relaxation, a laid back experience, and we certainly found it. The cabin was impeccably clean, modern and the bed is amazingly comfortable. The pictures don't do the interior of the cabin justice, it's small but the bathroom is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in. I prefer a house over a hotel because I enjoy cooking on vacation. The hot tub was wonderful to get in on a cold night, we saw stars for miles, and also super clean. For those that have to take work with you, be aware there is no Wi-Fi but our AT&T cell service worked fine, we were able to stream Roku easily. The only tiny improvement might be a larger TV, I have a bad back and it was hard to see from the bed, but there are two reclining chairs that are great for movie watching. We visited Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest which is a work in progress but great for history buffs. We went into Roanoke (about a 20 minute drive) and had great Lebanese food and found some fantastic shopping at Center in the Square. The owners were great to work with and have thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. I'd go back today if I could......
