Conveniently located between Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage in the sought-after Cathedral City “Cove,” this 2,300 sq. ft. natural light-filled 1950’s mid-century modern home captures the desert style of living with “period” décor, an “open floor plan,” three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large terraced yard with smooth transition stairs, a saltwater pool/spa and features an entire back wall of sliding glass doors providing San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountain views.

Flowing seamlessly through the foyer is THE LIVING ROOM, with its welcoming fireplace, large comfortable sectional, a variety of seating, a specialty seating nook and a 60” flat screen TV (with surround sound, blue ray and Ipod capabilities). THE OPEN KITCHEN features an art deco dining table, island seating for those quick meals, all the necessary/kitchen cooking appliances (including Krieuq single cup coffee maker) and amenities, and an adjacent laundry room with washer and dryer (supplies provided). The large back wall of sliding glass doors enables anyone in the foyer, living room and kitchen to be part of the action inside, out on the patio and/or down around the pool. The entire upper patio has retractable awnings, so during the warmer spring/summer days the upper patio and interior living and kitchen areas are protected from the sun. Along with whole house air conditioning, Terrace @ the Cove is your year round vacation home!

The THREE BEDROOMS AND TWO BATHROOMS are divided into each side of the house. On one side is a second master, with a Cal King bed over looking the front yard, a flat screen TV and blue ray, plenty of storage and the adjacent shared guest bathroom. On the Eastside of the house is the main master bedroom, featuring a tufted white platform Cal King bed, a flat screen TV and blue ray, picture window with terrific views, sliding glass door to a side patio and an en-suite “50’s period style” bathroom. The third bedroom features a beautiful queen platform bed (with mood lighting), flat-screen TV and blue ray, plenty of closet space and unique shelves filled with books and board games. The home comes with two hideaway floor bed mats/linens and all rooms are Ipod ready.

The kitchen and living room open to a large upper terraced patio which overlooks the spacious and PRIVATE BACK YARD. Included on the upper patio are rectractable awnings, BBQ, dining table, additional seating and a variety of lawn games await your arrival. The upper patio is a favorite spot for early morning coffee, curling up with the paper or a good book, alfresco dining or grabbing a beverage and watching the sun set on the adjacent mountains. THE SALT WATER POOL, designed with a limited deep section, features a baja shelf with in-pool-chairs and there are plenty of moveable umbrellas, pool 'floatees,' pool games and chaise lounges. And, don't forget, there a small fire pit for those cool evenings spent under the desert stars.

Prior to and after meeting in the desert, we have been vacationing here for years. As retirement becomes more of a reality, we begin searching for just the right desert home. After years of 'open houses,' the minute we walked in the front door of this home we knew this was not only the place for us, but it would also make for a great rental. With an open floor plan, two master's on opposite sides of the house, a private yard and a large back wall of windows, you'll agree this is both a great vacation home and terrific retirement space.

The 'Cove,' nestled between Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, makes getting to all desert hot spots a 'hop-skip and a jump'. The Cove reminds us of the way the desert must have been in its 'Rat Pack' hay-day. The neigbhorhood is walkable and restaurants, bars, shopping centers, casinos, the airport, movie theatres, the waterpark and so much more are minutes away from the home. Many of the hot spots mentioned above can be reached by bike (two bikes are provided for guests).

We loved the house and the property! The back yard and pool were pristine, with plentiful and comfortable seating. The house was beautiful; very neat and well-supplied with dishes and pots and pans. We didn't see the extra half-bath.

We enjoyed the layout of the house as it was easy visiting with all as we were preparing meals/snacks. Loved the pool - always clean and so inviting as the temps rose in May. Having the bikes available was very nice, made it easy to get around and see the area. Love the way the house is set up - felt like each of us couples had a master bedroom - with privacy . It was nice to arrive and feel like we didn't have to do a big shop immediately - most condiments, dressings already there. Would love to go again. - R & S

OCTOBER FUN IN THE SUN

The girls got away again and the only choice was when to go, not where to stay. Where to stay is Terrace @ the Cove. The house was immaculate and the landscape, pool, furnishings, are very well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware and cookery. Towels and linens are also well stocked and readily available. The three bedrooms easily accommodates 6 and the layout of the house provides each bedroom with privacy. Palm Springs is close and freeway access is very easy to get to. There are restaurants and stores close by but a car is needed. Overall it is an excellent place to stay and offers vert comfortable resort like living.

FUN EXPIERIENCE

We had a good time during our 2 night stay. It's a large house with modern furnishings throughout, open floor plan, and a great backyard with plenty of seating area. The pool and jacuzzi were good size, though there were sandy parts on the stones surrounding the pool. The house is well stocked so you won't run out of anything. There is no garage or covered parking which can make the cars pretty hot during the day. Everything in general worked fine, reasonably priced, no major problems, management was very helpful, easy to work with.

In either direction of the home are all the happenings of downtown Palm Springs (including the world famous tram, shopping and night life), Rancho Mirage’s “The River” shopping center, Palm Desert’s fashionable “El Paseo Drive” and “The Living Desert,” golf courses and any number of the desert casinos. The CC Cove is convenient to the airport, and a short bike ride from the Mary Pickford/IMAX theatre complex (bikes provided and many bike trails are easily accessible). Minutes from the home are some of the deserts best consignment/estate sale shops, the celebrity home bus tour, Boomers Family Fun Park, hiking, restaurants, speciality shops, markets and many bars/hot spots. And, the Knott’s Oasis Water Park is located down the road right off of Hwy 111.
