Great location and even though there wasn't any snow on the roads it was a short walk to find enough snow to go sledding.

House needs serious work
This house needs a maintenance overhaul. Lots of things didn’t work. Bbq, oven, the lights. The number of times I was asked to Just Go To The Breaker Box…we can laugh about it. Now. You can’t get to the hot tub in the winter unless you can climb through the dozen feet of snow, like a little ice goat, which they fail to tell you. Lots of other warnings posted all over the house with long lists of consequences for breaking them. Like do this or this or this and the police will be called or a giant fine. Kind of unfun. Kind of a fun killer. 2 parking spots in a house that sleeps 14 is goofy as heck. Unless you have two church vans then I guess it’s cool. The number of beds was nice with firm, comfy mattresses. Our groups takeaway: there are many houses up on the mountain, pick a different one.

Good Base for Mt Hood Adventures
We have returned to Big Bear because of its great location. #1) the Wifi has improved, yea! (#2) the clearing of paths to the door has not :( The parking spaces were plowed, but the path to the entrance was an icy disaster area. The folks staying in little bear had it even worse- but they had brought their own shovels, and helped us clear a path to the door of Big Bear- thank you! This is a real safety issue. The house itself was great. The heater in the front lower bedroom was broken, but vacasa was very responsive, and a maintenance guy came on day two and managed to fix half of it. Hot tub was off when we arrived, but warmed up nicely. Overall a very nice home, just needs to have reliable shoveling service!

Perfect mountain getaway!
Everything was perfect from the second we arrived until we left! The cabin was loaded with extras from games to kitchen utensils. There is a huge table that was perfect for our large family to gather and play games. And to top it off, it is conveniently located within walking distances to our favorite Government Camp restaurants!

Big Bear
There were a few issues with our stay. The batteries in the remote for the TV were out and no replacements. We had to go out and buy our own batteries. There was no laundry detergent to clean towels, so we had to go out and buy our own as well. Internet was down the entire time, tried basic troubleshooting on equipment, but that did not fix it. I called Vacasa team and they said a maintenance employee would call and come out to take a look. Maintenance never called nor came out to the property to look things over.
