The overall detail inside this home was unbelieveably beautiful!! and we immediately felt comfortable and at home. Along with our two small kids we brought along our dog Bruno (100lb Mastiff) and he had the Best time playing with the owners two small dogs! My entire family felt comfortable and welcome here! The kitchen is small, but we knew that and packed appropriately and it all worked out wonderful. Thank you! Thank you! for allowing us to stay in this fabulous Beach house, we will definitly be back!!
We cannot say enough about our stay at the Porter's guest house. It was absolutely fabulous! Donna and David were very nice and accommodating. The guest house exceeded our expectations. The views were incredible and the house itself was just beautiful! There was a lot of attention to detail with both the decor and the architecture. The furniture was comfortable with lots of pillows available. There were plenty of towels, blankets (throws) and places to lounge both inside and out. It was also very nice to have a washer and dryer in the house.
We enjoyed the pool everyday for hours and David did an excellent job insuring that it was always clean. The yard was quiet and private. Also, the community beach was only minutes away.
Overall the property was very clean and well-maintained. Each day you would find some new detail... The kitchen was a little limited but we knew that prior to our arrival.
The guest house location was great relative to restaurants and retail. We really enjoyed the 1640 Hart House, Rossini's and the Clambox. Newburyport was about 30 minutes away and that was an excellent day trip (lots of shopping and restaurants).
Our favorite destination was Crane's Beach - it is easily the cleanest, nicest, most beautiful beach we have been to in all of New England! Just that was worth the trip alone.
We typically take two big vacations each year, one tropical during the winter and one during the summer. This was one of our favorites! We really loved the guest house and the entire vacation overall. Again, Donna and David were great. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to a friend or relative.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. The owners were terrific and went out of their way to stay out of our way, but were happy to answer any questions we came up with. The house itself was tastefully decorated and clean (a biggie for us). It had a lovely ocean view and very little in the way of neighbor exposure. The pool was terrific and my children and I enjoyed it almost every warm day. We also used the hot tub which was fun.
The location was about 5 minutes from downtown Ipswich and about 15 minutes from Crane Beach (which we visited often).
The only negative I can come up with is that the wireless internet in the house was very weak due to the location of the router and not really usable.
That being said, I would heartily recommend this property to anyone wanting a nice, clean, fun, and convenient rental. We will return to this property next summer ;)
