About this property

Due to the high demand on la maison des sirenes 1, I decided to offer another apartment. This is La Maison des Sirenes 2 ,same house but on the top floor (4th floor) of my brownstone.
It is located in one of the most coveted block(tree lined)of Bedstuy. It features a master bedroom (luxury Vera Wang queen size mattress) , a guest room with a twin size daybed coming from another world, an antique bathroom, a complete Tuscan kitchen, dining room and living room. The apartment is very bright, light is coming from every sides and ceilings (skylight).
The apartment was decorated with taste and I meticulously picked every single piece of furniture myself. Some of the furniture’s come from abroad and have many stories to say on their own. Some other has been collected for years and stored in my apartment waiting for the perfect place to be. Keep in mind this is not a newly renovated apartment .it has a flea market mood. The wood floor is imperfect and scratched. All the signs of a well lived house.
NYC OCCUPANCY TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED AND ARE DUE UPON ARRIVAL IN CASH. They are required by NYC on less than 180 days rentals. They are 5.875% +$2/night.

Bedstuy used to be known for its motto 'do or die' . Not anymore!!!! Now it is best known for its incredibly beautiful Brownstone. It was fearures recentlt in the Time Out magazine as ' one of the best neighbourhood ' of NYC.The strong community and abundant beautiful brownstone townhouses contribute to its growth and charm. New cafes,restaurants,bakeries ,boutique ,galleries nd wine bars are sprouting everywhere receiving much attention by Zagat, time out,NY magazines and blogs. A diverse mix of students,hipsters,artists,crative professionals,architects and attorneys of all races continue to move to the neighbourhood.
The area is serviced well by the A abd C train with commute times 15 mn to lowervManhattan and 30 mn to midtown.(times square).
Bedstuy was home to famous artists such as Notorious BIG,Lil Kim,Mos Def,Chris rock,,poet June Jordan and activist Hattie Carthan. Bedstuy streets are often represented in media : Spike lee movies, MIA music video.....
There is a strong sense of pride being part of Bedstuy and being its pioneers.

Perfect place to stay in Brooklyn

We are a family of five and spent two days in Brooklyn in this lovely apartment, and then three in Manhattan. We really enjoyed the stay. The place is cozy, clean, cheerful and quiet. The beds are really confortable too. A perfect place to relax after a busy day visiting New York.

Pour découvrir New York comme un new yorkais de Brooklyn

L'appartement du 3e, sur un étage (sans la terrasse, pour celle-ci demander le 2e) paraît plus petit qu'en photos mais se révèle très fonctionnel et idéal pour se reposer après le tourbillon de Manhattan. La maison est typique de ces rues résidentielles de Brooklyn, au charme certain. Idéal pour quatre personnes (dont deux ados pour nous), mais peut-être pas plus sur un long séjour. La propriétaire, Nathalie, habite au 1er, parle français (est française). Très sympathique, elle répond vite aux demandes. L'emplacement est très bien localisé pour qui veut découvrir New York -Manhattan et aussi le cœur de Brooklyn, une ville en soi, à 30 minutes environ -selon les heures- en métro de Manhattan. C'est peu de temps de parcours pour une mégapole comme celle-ci et cela permet de ressentir le quotidien d'une ville, voir la population. Le quartier est calme, plein d'intérêt pour découvrir la "vraie" vie américaine (alors que Manhattan est par endroits plus internationale et touristique), avec des bons plans, des commerces variés (du très simple au bio à la mode, une très bonne pizzéria tout près, des petits cafés très agréables). Le voisinage sympathique communique facilement. La ligne de métro (C) à 5 minutes de l'appart est idéale pour parcourir Manhattan du sud au nord (jusqu'aux portes d'Harlem), avec de nombreux arrêts, tous bien situés pour les balades architecturales et autres (elle passe à l'ouest de Central park). Il ne nous a pas été souvent nécessaire de faire des changements. Du logement, on peut aussi aller explorer le nord ouest de Brooklyn, découvrir ces nouveaux quartiers en plein développement comme Williamsburg, pousser jusqu'à Coney Island. Mais attention, Brooklyn est immense aussi et prendrait beaucoup de temps à visiter de long en large. Bref, un très bon endroit pour un séjour long (8/10 jours) à New York ! On recommande !

Buona permanenza - Good stay

"La Maison des sirenes" si presenta proprio come è descritta: vivibile per 4 persone; cucina fornitissima di elettrodomestici e tavolo molto grande, letti comodi e soprattutto una posizione ottima con a soli 7-8 minuti la linea C della Subway. Purtroppo non abbiamo incontrato Nathalie di persona, ma è sempre stata presente sul telefono (WhatsApp) e celere a risolvere un piccolo problema con una lampadina bruciata.Sicuramente da consigliare! "La Maison des sirenes" is just as it is described:livable for 4 people; well-stocked kitchen with appliances and a very large table, comfortable beds but especially a great location with the Subway C line just 7-8 minutes away.Unfortunately we didn't meet Nathalie in person but has always been present on the phone (WhatsApp) and quick to solve a small problem with a burnt light bulb.Definitely to recommend!
