The Greenhouse On The Lake - Private Cottage And Beach Right On Lake Huron

The beach is back this year! Due to high water levels in 2020, the beach was non-existent. In 2021, the water levels have gone down and now you can enjoy our full, private beach with steps leading down from our lawn.

COVID-19: I pride myself on the cleanliness of my cottage and take every measure to ensure the space is thoroughly cleaned between each guest. All surfaces are disinfected to prepare for your arrival. The beach front is private and not shared between properties.

The Green House has been in our family for over 40 years. The Green House features a 50 ft. private beach on Lake Huron in a quiet residential area. The Green House actually faces majestic Lake Huron affording picture perfect views of freighters and boaters on the lake. You can view the lake from the Master Bedroom, Living Room and porch of the house. In addition, the gentle sounds of the lake rolling in have the power to soothe even the most frazzled. You’ll wonder why you didn’t do this sooner!
The Green House comes fully furnished except for bed linens and towels. So that you might enjoy The Green House’s quiet solitude, it does not have a telephone, however, the house does feature Cable TV if you wish to watch on unfortunate days of unfavorable weather. In consideration to our future guests, we do request that The Green House remain Smoke & Pet Free.

As The Green House is located approximately half way between Port Huron and Lexington, both on Lake Huron, there are many attractions at your disposal!

The town of Lexington is a small, quaint village with many attractions. The downtown area is great for an afternoon of strolling into unique shops, including dining options such as restaurants overlooking the beach, a public beach, a post office, beach rentals (boats, skiing, etc.), book stores, general stores, outfitters, Michigan-made product stores, a winery & other unique shops! There are also many summer festivals, including music, arts and crafts, fireworks, viewing of the Port Huron-Mackinac Sailboat Race, beach festivals & car shows.

Renters beware - Dream home and location. Nightmare host.

We booked this trip for our 9th annual family boys trip. My father had just passed a week prior. We were all looking forward to a peaceful stay next to the shore just to listen to the waves roll in. Ms.Sue was very rude from her initial contact with me which was made outside of VRBO communication paths. It instantly felt as if she took a very harsh line of interrogation. Asking inappropriate personal questions about my father creating a very awkward conversation. When we arrived, Ms.Sue was waiting in the front for us. She instantly began to imply we were going to destroy her property. She then attempted to cut the number of guests allowed from the original posting. She went further to explain that there is a burn ban in the county and although beach side fires are a major selling point in the post, no such fires would be allowed. Her process took nearly 40 minutes to complete. While she didn’t feel it necessary to show or inform us of local emergency contacts or hospitals, she did give us a 5 minute demonstration on how to operate the blinds and force me to sign an additional contract outside of VRBO. Once she left, we did enjoy an amazing few days at the location. We enjoyed beautiful memories reminiscing on past laughs with my father. After our stay we cleaned thoroughly. Once home, I received the rudest call of my life from Ms. Sue. Angered because her grill was 5 feet from its original location and the dishes were washed but not well enough. Wonderful Property

This is a great place to relax and enjoy Lake Huron! The home is very clean and inviting. My grandchildren and I enjoyed the beach and surrounding area. An evening swim and then a campfire on the beach is incredible.

This property is a GEM!

I LOVE this property! Everything is immaculate. The wood cabinets, paneling and flooring GLOW. The furniture and fixtures were vintage and in perfect condition. I honestly wondered how they keep everything so pristine. Obviously, the owners take great care in maintaining everything inside and outside of this property. I loved the privacy while hanging out in the back yard and beach. We had all of the amenities we needed for cooking and relaxing on our vacation. I will definitely stay here again while visiting my family.
