Great apartment for family (and everyone else too!)
We're a family of five, with two parents and three daughters from tween to teens. We stayed at Victor's apartment in the Sant Marti area of Barcelona for 3 nights at the end of 2013. Victor's father Miguel, a very nice man, greeted us and showed us the apartment as well as suggesting several places nearby to visit. We were totally delighted to see how beautiful, spacious, quiet and convenient it was. The living room was large, even for all of us together, with a big-screen TV plus a varied selection of movies for the DVD player. The bedrooms were nice and the beds very comfortable. The furnitures were modern but still warm and cozy and the appliances efficient and easy to use. The kitchen was well-equipped and we were able to enjoy several delicious home-cooked meals without much fuss. A nice bottle of wine was provided as a welcoming gesture. There were even flowers delicately displayed on the beds when we first arrived. Victor had put a lot of effort into making the place as attractive as possible and it shows. We wouldn't hesitate to choose it over any hotel in Barcelona (and we had been in a suite at the Mandarin). There are many good restaurants, bakeries and grocecy stores within easy walking distance, all of which are much more reasonable compared to the over-priced establishments closer to city-central. Most well-know attractions are within a quick taxi ride away, although we didn't mind walking (a lot) to discover the surrounding neighborhoods. We even took a leisurely stroll back to the apartment from Las Ramblas. All of us genuinely regretted leaving the place. I'd highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a 5-star accommodation.
