Chiswick is one of the most popular and prosperous boroughs in London with families and professionals alike. Mainly due to its huge array of cafes, restaurants and delis. The area has many beautiful areas to explore such as the gardens of Chiswick House, (a lavish baroque villa that was built in 1729), Chiswick Mall which lines the banks of the river Thames with pubs and restaurants and the listed Gunnersbury Park with its two ancient houses.
A short taxi ride from Kensington; as well as being conveniently located on the District line, where you can catch a tube straight into central London! You will find this area ideally located for access to Kensington and Chelsea and further on, Oxford Street can be reached in 30 minutes.
We were so excited to be staying somewhere so stylish and luxurious and this house did not disappoint! I particularly loved the large kitchen and dining room which opened right out onto the garden. We were a large group and had never expected to find something that matched our needs so perfectly. It was truly five star.
Much of the Chiswick area is hundreds of years old and rich in history, with a mixture of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian homes. Bordering the Thames on the south side, this area feels like a country escape, with the benefits of being within easy reach of central and many other parts of the Capital via the District, Piccadilly and Overground lines nearby.
Chiswick Common and Duke’s Meadow are lovely green areas for a walk; stop off at one of the many traditional English pubs and restaurants or browse the high street with its boutique shops and quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Chiswick House is an exceptional Neo-Palladian villa built in 1729 and well worth a visit – why not stroll around the recently restored gardens or take afternoon tea at the café in the grounds?
Chiswick has always been a popular neighborhood with families and offers many family homes, often with gardens too.
