360 degree mountain views. Quiet, private 5 acre property.
Keywords: 9 miles to Joshua Tree National Park entrance.
I stayed here with 6 friends for the weekend and the place was fantastic. Plenty of space for everyone, the rooms where great, there was a cool chillout space in the loft, the shower was great and always hot (even with 7 people in a row taking showers). The location was nice and secluded (though easy enough to find), we loved the outside seating and the fire pit. The cupboards where stocked with things we forgot to bring like sugar etc. The sofa is great and they even have speakers in the ceiling, which means music sounds awesome. All in all it was the perfect place for our stay. My only suggestion would be a hot water kettle (if there was one we couldn't find it) as we had to use a pan to boil water for our tea. Other than that, perfect!
overall a great experience. A little bit of a trek to get here but a nice place to crash for 6 ppl on the cheap. Apple maps finds it easily. Google is off by a couple blocks.
We absolutely loved this property! We found the house pretty easily without needing extra directions and never wanted to leave! The location was awesome; it was on a secluded dirt road but it was still close enough to the West entrance into Joshua Tree National Park and restaurants and shops. The beds were super comfy and the house was furnished nicely and very clean. We'd definitely come back here if we ever get the chance!
My father came from Paso Robles, to visit our small Pistachio tree ranch near by. Due to the fact we have been working on our landscaping and can not offer comfortable accommodations on the property at this point in time, I. Was looking for a place that we could all be comfortable, yet near by the ranch. The opportunity to rental this home on 5 acres of land, surrounded by quite, beautiful scenery could not have worked out any better. My dad was so surprised when he got there to find a comfortable home away from home.
Thank you for sharing your home, we all enjoyed ourselves at both locations. I will be referring a few friends that we have wanted to come and stay with us, now that I know we can suggests such a nice place to stay and it's nearby too.
Great stay. The property met our needs perfectly. Recommend that you find the property during the day, it is of the beaten path a little and our GPS did not take us right to the property.
As the owner told us it is a work in process, but what is there is done well and the unfinished parts were not an issue for us. Our 21 son who enjoys rock climbing plans to return someday with other climbing friends.
Arrive BEFORE dark on your first day here. The other reviews are accurate that Google maps gets you relatively close but does not take you to the property. The homeowner will give you an intersection to put into your GPS that will get you closer however, there are no lights in the area and the house number is not lit up in any way. We got out with flashlights and walked around to find the property. It would be nice if the home owner had some solar garden lights in front of the street address sign and at the driveway entrance. Once we found the property, again because it was dark, we had trouble getting into the property. Also, the property is on an unpaved and rutty road.
Inside, we found the house to be clean, the linens clean, beds comfortable, and a good shower. We saw beautiful sunrises every morning from the front yard. It took about 45 min get to "intersection rock" inside Joshua Tree each morning from the property.
Things that didn't affect our stay but might bother some people: It does appear that they either stopped prior to finishing the property or they aren't finished yet. There Is drywall missing above the bathroom cabinet, the carpet upstairs is not actually installed, there are circles were the lights are to me moved or were relocated and it looks like a kid painted the house (sloppy work). Like I said, these didn't affect our stay, it just looks odd.
The owner is easy to contact and quick to respond. We would stay here again.
