We recently stayed at Villa La Jolla with a party of 5 adults for 9 days. There were a few minor issues but overall the villa was outstanding. Recommendations to help the next guests are as follows:
1. As Jerry recommended stock up on groceries in Nadi before arrival as there is a store across the street but selection is limited.
2. It is advisable to rent a car in order to visit other locations such as local resorts (Warwick, Naviti, Outrigger, ECO cafe).
3. House staff was very friendly and helpful. They do cook but the menu is limited so it is a little difficult to know what to buy in advance. We took Jerry's advice and went to a butcher shop in Nadi on the way to the villa and bought a wide selection of meats for about 5 or 6 nights..
4. Jerry provides water shoes but you may want to make sure you have your size. The coral is beautiful but not very forgiving on the feet.
5. BAD is a diving company in Pacific Harbor. About an hour drive from the villa but Spectacular shark diving. Truly unique experience for divers.
Overall it is a very nice villa that has much to offer. In our case the wind was constantly blowing and the pool was a little chilly but the hot tub really worked well. I would definitely stay here again.
Villa La Jolla is a home away from home in every sense of the meaning. No detail has been overlooked in the design, layout and amenities of this beautiful villa. Set amidst a breaktaking combination of gardens including the fabulous courtyard for BBQing, plus sand beach and coral coastline boasting breathtaking views the pride of ownership was quite evident and great care was taken to preserve the natural vegetation throughout the property. We took lovely strolls down the beach in both directions, snorkelled and kayaked right out front, we would rinse off in the outdoor shower and take a refreshing dip in the oversized pool. As the evening progressed we would turn on the spa/hot tub section of the pool and watch the sunset complete with cocktail, the outdoor lighting only enhances the natural beauty of this setting. We never wanted for anything at La Jolla. We are seasoned holiday renters and find many places lack properly outfitted kitchens.... the gourmet kitchen at La Jolla contains everything one needs to cook and entertain although admittedly we enjoyed the meals Fiza had prepared for us on many nights. The mattresses and bedding are wonderfully comfortable and the spacious master ensuite an absolute treat, plus it was so refreshing to take a wake up swim straight from the master bedroom each morning. When we needed supplies we simply walked a short distance to the general store/bottle shop/petrol/ATM. We stayed for 9 days and honestly never wanted to leave! We would highly recommend Villa La Jolla to anyone!
This is one of the most incredible properties we have been fortunate enough to stay in. We have stayed in homes throughout the entire world and this clearly ranks in the top 5 that we have ever stayed in. Every amenity you could ever want while being away from home is provided with this home. The daily chef and grounds keeper are outstanding. The scene is by far one of the best you will ever experience. The owners are outstanding people and take pride in your experience being one of the best trips you would ever take. Rest assure we will never stay in resorts again when you can have your home away from home in a setting that you can only experience by coming to Fiji!
How in the world can you top this?? Honestly, this place is a true paradise, from top to bottom, start to finish. The house itself is exquisitely designed with three huge bedrooms, two of which look out onto the pool, beach and reef. Waking up and falling asleep with a view of the ocean just beyond your feet is remarkable.
The beds are the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on, with cozy linens and pillows. The bathrooms are spacious and jaw-dropping beautiful.
The "house girl" cooked incredible Indian food for us on two of the days we were there. She gave us a huge menu of options, picked up the food and prepared it for us that day - lunch or dinner. All we had to do was pay for the food (which was very inexpensive) as her time was covered in the cost of the rental. Wow!
We stayed at the Villa 4 nights and spent a couple of days diving near Beqa island. The diving was truly unparalleled. That said, it was hard to tear us away from the Villa because it was just soooo good. I've never felt more relaxed and pampered in my life. Although we didn't take advantage of the massage therapist available for house calls (at only $50 / hr), it was nice knowing that was an option.
Seriously, if you're going to Fiji, stay here. You'll get everything you expect and more. The pictures say it all.
We have just spent a wonderful week at Villa La Jolla. It is a beautiful house with a wonderful pool, including heated spa pool, and 3 linked bures. The house is such a fabulous place to spend time - literally on the beach, with great snorkelling right up to the shore. Jerry is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Recommended highly.
Located between Nadi International Airport and Suva, this location offers easy access to the capitol city of Suva, nearby hotels and restaurants, including a newly built grocery/liquor store and a cafe just a short walk across the main highway. Local activities include snorkeling, excellent diving, horseback riding, waterfall and rainforest tours, golf , fishing. A 45-minute drive to the east you will find Pacific Harbor, known as the adventure capital of Fiji. Shark dive, ATV off-road tours and river rafting just to name a few of the adventure activities you'll find. For surfers, nearby Hideaways features one of the few paddle out surf breaks on the island, world famous Cloudbreak. Restaurants and Namotu Island are also accessible via local boats, but does require a 45-minute drive to the west.
