About Bob Collins

I've been a Breckenridge local for 23 years. I build custom homes in the area and rent some of them, including this one, short term, seasonally or long term.

Mostly though, I'm a skier and snowmobiler in the winter and mountain biker and four wheeler in the summers.

I personally manage this property and can make whatever deals suits us each on the spot.

Why Bob Collins chose Breckenridge

I built this magnificent home because of the views and proximity to the Breckenridge town center and ski area.

It's only a couple of hours drive to the Denver, Grand Junction and Colorado Springs airports, an hour from world class whitewater rafting and fishing, minutes to the ski resort and town and walking distance to hunting and the back-country. Despite it's proximity, this home is very secluded on ten acres- nearest neighbor is over 1000 feet away!

I first vacationed in Breck in 1979 and was hooked. After school , I moved here permanently. I came for the winter and stayed for the summer.

Spring and fall are great times to visit; most restaurants have 2 for 1 specials and there is no waiting!

What makes this estate unique

Playground for the kids! Swings set, fort, jungle gym, trapeze swing, slides, balance beam, mountain bike trail from patio, horse shoe pits and a gas outdoor fire pit with a curved stone amphitheater.

Killer dollhouse room in the loft. Five structures, ski chalet, mall, restaurant and riding arena and stables- lots of dolls and horse figures. endless fun for young girls!

I especially enjoy the morning hikes, walking the dog after coffee. There is mountain bike downhill course bordering the property. The views of the ski area and sunset are spectacular.

We had such a great stay in this gorgeous home. The families enjoyed the cooking. The kitchen was perfect, plenty of room. The kids kept busy watching movies in the theatre room and the playing in the rec room. There is lots of outdoor space around the property for sledding and playing in the snow. Bob the owner is so nice to deal with, extremely helpful. We will for sure be coming back to this home.

Large house, lacking many things that should be standard in a rental.

We rented this house for when family came into town and were very excited to stay there from the walk-through that we did. Many things that were promised to be put into the house before our stay had not been done and we were not told about it prior to our rental time. There was no hand soap anywhere to be found in the house which should be standard to have at least a few in the restrooms and kitchen. Also, some of the bathrooms did not even have a single roll of toilet paper. During our stay there was an issue with the house and the owner would not reply or respond to any calls from us for over 5 hours. We had to try and determine the issue and take time away from family to resolve it on our own. There were many small things in the home that did not work properly, lights burned out, and other items that should have been addressed before being rented. Also, a very important item was left at this house and I never was able to get a text or phone call back from the owner regarding it. I've stayed in about 6 rental homes in Breck and this was by far the worst experience I have had. The other rental properties had every well stocked and addressed any issue I had and were extremely welcoming. I believe the owner is just trying to make money rather than make people happy with a great experience.

Owner's Response: Wow is all I can say. I try my hardest to be welcoming and helpful for all my guests. I get to bring dream vacations alive! I love it. This guest wanted, bless her heart, this wedding to be perfect. After the booking process went past thirty emails back and forth, followed by a preview showing, I should have passed and referred her to the Marriott where they have a staff. But, I booked them anyway. Then they wanted to bring their dog and check in 4 hours early. I said sure, no extra charge. They were using the house stereo for their ceremony and couldn't get the audio on. Very angry about it and more than a little insulting. "It doesn't work it's broken!" They were totally stressed out, claiming having spent hours on it. She put her Dad on the phone and he couldn't even find the power switch. I walked him though the input settings and then to.. They had activated the mute button. It worked fine. I see now that it is still my fault? There are a few hundred lights in this house. Most are on brand new dimmer switches and are the new high tech LED bulbs. The bulbs weren't burnt out, the dimmers were set so low, they were off. To be fair, other people have fumbled with theses dimmers, so I put labels on them. But still. I refunded their security deposit 3 days after departure. I never heard on single word from this guest after that second night. Not one call, not one text or another email. I've lived in this town of 2000 residents for 25 years and have had the same phone number and the entire time. She lives in Breckenridge too. So I'm not sure what to make of her comments here, now four months later. I'm still going to wrap my arms around this review and bring to my house preparation and stocking of items routines a thorough review and have it be something future guests and reviewers end up raving about! :) Please, give little weight and consideration to this review and read it along with the other reviews. very comforable and convenient

3 families/13 people stayed at this home over the Christmas-New Year holiday to ski. We enjoy cooking and the kitchen was wonderful. The two ovens were perfect. The stove top worked well but one of the knobs was broken--hopefully the owner can fix this. The kitchen was very well equipped with every gizmo/gadget most cooks could ever desire. The home was nicely furnished and comfortable to live in. There were a number of burned out light bulbs that need to be replaced. I know the owner recommends a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach his property. Believe me, if there is snow it is a must!

Owner's Response: We just finished upgrading all the lights to the new high efficiency LED lights bulbs, all on dimmer switches. These bulbs have a twenty year life and put out a real nice soft light. No more burned out bulbs! In the winter four wheel drive is recommended, especially for novice winter weather drivers. Good snow tires is enough 95% of the time.

Great home for our family reunion!

Our family rented this beautiful home for our 2014 reunion. We had fifteen family members (age one to 80+) and there was something for everyone to do. The play area was great for the kids and the rest of us enjoyed the stunning views of Breckenridge and the valley. Having three refrigerators was a plus and the "pay-it-forward" pantry was a big help. Bob was easy to contact and always there to answer questions. We hope to return again soon!

Beautiful home with amazing views!

Beautiful home with more amazing views. Although the house is exceedingly spacious it also has a very cozy feel. Overall the house was beautifully decorated, very clean, and any small issues that arose were promptly dealt with by the owner/manager Bob who was easily reached via phone, and pleasant to work with. The days in which we were snowed in we took full advantage of the media room and game room, which offer plenty of activities to keep busy. The hot tub has the most wonderful view overlooking the city lights of the town of Breckenridge at night! We were all impressed with the house and with the experience as a whole. This rental is a wonderful choice!
