About this property

Bear Lair: Luxe cabin, private lake, caves, trails, fast WiFi @ Bear Track Lake

Bear Lair, our first cabin, is a cozy, intimate lakeside getaway. We built Bear Lair to feature the best of all cabins that we had visited, and we strove to add aspects that would make a stay here unique and memorable.

Given the proximity to Red River Gorge and the Daniel Boone National Forest, we made every effort to showcase how beautiful wood can be. This includes the unusual ceiling, the hardwood floors, and the white pine walls, as well as the owner-crafted cedar chest, counter, and bar. Our cabin is now equipped with up to 300 Mbps fiber optic internet.

A favorite of guests is the 22-foot porch overlooking the lake. From the porch, you can fish, feed the fish (with provided fish food), or just sit and watch for the wildlife that regularly visits the lake. If you are lucky, you just might see a deer bringing her new fawn down for a drink!

Besides the cabin, the property has many features that you'll get to enjoy while staying here. From the caves, overhangs, and cliffs to the beautiful trees and waterfalls, it's hard to imagine ever being bored at our cabin rental. We promise you will want to return.

Great Place with some nice perks
My GF and I stayed here while on a climbing trip for a few nights. we loved the vidbe of the cabin and all the perks to the location. Note the boat is $15 extra per day which we were not aware of. Deffinately reccomond renting the boat for at least a day. The lake was nice and the caves were a great bonus. Thanks Janice!

We started our business in 2011 to pursue our long-held dream of sharing this unique piece of Red River Gorge with the world. We're fortunate that we've been able to grow our business to four cabins.

We're a locally-owned business, and we're proud of tourism's impact on our area. Our cabins feature the work of local artisans, and you'll notice the attention to detail in each one.

We built our first cabin and designed our other cabins to showcase the property's natural beauty. We've been able to share our love of the area with many guests, and we're excited to share it with you.

Why they chose this property

People like to visit the wilderness for many reasons. They might like to see the trees, view wildlife, walk in the woods, float on a quiet lake, maybe fish a little, explore trails, breathe clean air, and just relax and enjoy the lack of noise. The Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge area offers all of these, in addition to unique, natural, geological, and historical features that stimulate your senses. Natural arches, magnificent cliffs, rock shelters, and historical sites all appeal to our sense of history and aesthetics. It is difficult to visit such a place and not have a profound spiritual experience.

Thirty years ago, our family was fortunate enough to discover and acquire a piece of property that encompasses all of the above. Located less than twenty minutes from Natural Bridge State Park, the 32-acre site has it all. In addition to a 29 million gallon spring-fed lake, huge rock shelters (one with a natural arch), caves that have surely provided shelter for countless ancient people, and abundant wildlife are here to experience and enjoy. There are two National Historical Sites located here.

For the past 13 years, we have carefully and respectively developed the property, building roads, bringing modern necessities such as city water, electricity, HD television, and access to modern communications, all the while disturbing nature as little as possible. Docks, a boat house, and covered fishing huts have been constructed to make the wonders of the remarkable body of water more available.

When one visits Bear Track Lake Adventures for accommodations, you can choose one of four available cabins on the property. Three cabins are lakeside, while one sits atop a hill overlooking the lake. Whether you choose to stay in Bear Lair, A Sleepy Bear’s Dream, A Sneaky Bear's Hideaway, or Boo Bear, you and your family can experience it all and not have to drive anywhere.
