Hidden under the trees between two wonderful beach, our house is the perfect place to get away from the city and into paradise. Although you may well be away from civilization here, the town of San Juan del Sur is just 20 minutes away.
Located between Majagual and Maderas Beaches, my house is literally a 30 second walk away from a beautiful beachfront. There are plenty of other small semi-secluded beaches in walking distance.
You can rent the entire house (in this case please mention this in your message) or you can just rent a single room (or two or three) and have access to the rest of the house's amenities, like the spacious and fully stocked kitchen and bar spaces.
- 2 upper level rooms with excellent views of the surroundings:
(1) one double bed (2) two single beds
- 3 ground floor rooms:
(1) one double bed. (2) 2 single beds (3) one double bed and one single bed
The price on the webpage is the base price for 2 people renting one room.
If you are more than 2 people the price will change accordingly and you will have access to more rooms (2 people per room except for the room that can hold 3 people on the ground floor).
** If you are interested in renting the whole house, please send a message to me and I will give you a quote - generally around $160 per night depending on the season.**
GETTING THERE AND AWAY:
To get to and from the house there are THREE options:
1) Rent a vehicle - preferably 4x4 during the rainy season.
2) Get a cab/taxi from San Juan del Sur ($15 each way depending on the number of people)) or Rivas ($25 each way)
3) Take a shuttle bus ($3-5) from San Juan del Sur to Maderas beach. Then walk 10 minutes northward on the beach until you reach Matilda beach (if you ask anyone around they will point you in the right direction)
OUT: There is one small food shack (which normally serves an option of two different Nicaraguan dishes) within a 90 second walk and great restaurants within a 15 minute drive (or 10 -15 min walk on the beach south to another beach). At the surf beach there are three places to eat and drink (one of which has internet -Cafe Revolucion).
If you go into San Juan there are many restaurants and cafes. When heading to San Juan, if you make a right towards Marsella Beach (pronounce the two 'll' like a 'y') there is a nice place called Mango Rosa that also has Internet, food and drinks (probably a little more calm if you need to work).
IN: If you want to cook your own food, you need to buy it in San Juan del Sur (the city nearby) before you come to the beach house.
If you are staying at the house for at least 4 days, you can get fruit/vegetable from small trucks that come by the neighborhood every other day.
There is a grocery store called “Pali” in San Juan for food, charcoal, etc. On Saturdays there is a small organic food market at Big Wave Dave's in San Juan del Sur.
If you want a more local experience, you can also go to the fruit and vegetable market in the middle of town (prices may vary depending on your Spanish skill level).
At the southern end of San Juan del Sur there is a Marina from where you can buy fresh seafood.
**Air-conditioning is not included in price. Please let me know if you need it so I can send you an adjusted quote.**
**Use of washing machine is not included in price unless you stay more than a week.**
