Hidden under the trees between two wonderful beach, our house is the perfect place to get away from the city and into paradise. Although you may well be away from civilization here, the town of San Juan del Sur is just 20 minutes away.

GETTING THERE AND AWAY:
To get to and from the house there are THREE options:
1) Rent a vehicle - preferably 4x4 during the rainy season.
2) Get a cab/taxi from San Juan del Sur ($15 each way depending on the number of people)) or Rivas ($25 each way)
3) Take a shuttle bus ($3-5) from San Juan del Sur to Maderas beach. Then walk 10 minutes northward on the beach until you reach Matilda beach (if you ask anyone around they will point you in the right direction)
OUT: There is one small food shack (which normally serves an option of two different Nicaraguan dishes) within a 90 second walk and great restaurants within a 15 minute drive (or 10 -15 min walk on the beach south to another beach). At the surf beach there are three places to eat and drink (one of which has internet -Cafe Revolucion).
If you go into San Juan there are many restaurants and cafes. When heading to San Juan, if you make a right towards Marsella Beach (pronounce the two 'll' like a 'y') there is a nice place called Mango Rosa that also has Internet, food and drinks (probably a little more calm if you need to work).
IN: If you want to cook your own food, you need to buy it in San Juan del Sur (the city nearby) before you come to the beach house.
If you are staying at the house for at least 4 days, you can get fruit/vegetable from small trucks that come by the neighborhood every other day.
There is a grocery store called “Pali” in San Juan for food, charcoal, etc. On Saturdays there is a small organic food market at Big Wave Dave's in San Juan del Sur.
If you want a more local experience, you can also go to the fruit and vegetable market in the middle of town (prices may vary depending on your Spanish skill level).
At the southern end of San Juan del Sur there is a Marina from where you can buy fresh seafood.
**Air-conditioning is not included in price. Please let me know if you need it so I can send you an adjusted quote.**
**Use of washing machine is not included in price unless you stay more than a week.**
I am a Nicaraguan who has lived and studied in the US. I love traveling and love to host travelers. In total, I have lived in 6 different countries on 5 different continents.
I found this little piece of paradise about 10 years ago. I didnt want to be right in the middle of a busy tourist beach town so I settled 20 minutes away in the middle of the forest with quick access to various beaches. If you are a beach person in general, you will love the area since I can assure you a variety of beaches, from calm and secluded to surf-able and slightly populated.
In terms of everyday living, I can choose to go to a more crowded beach if I want or hangout near the house undisturbed. If I want to cook something for myself, I have a great kitchen to take advantage of, and if I dont feel like cooking, there are a couple decent choices for food in a 5-15 minute walking range.
An inexpensive gateway to paradise!
I am from Nicaragua, so I know many nice place to visit. Because I love the oceon I go a lot. So to find Daniel's place in a very peaceful place of Nicaragua was wonderful. No too many people. Very quite. I see many monkeys and not many tourist. I surf much, so it was great place to do this. Only 5 minutes from the house walking is a wonderful surf sport. I recommend Daniel's place to everyone, small and old.
Well, I knew already the beach and the owner, and I haven't been disappointed. The house and the accommodations are brand new. The view is incredible from the double room upstairs. Everything is well thought and organized for comfortable stay : places to read, to cook, to relax and the beach is just outside the garden. All was very clean. I can only warmly recommend to stay there. And I am surely planing to come back as soon as possible, the house is so big that I can gather friends and family...
