In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is an additional room with a day bed. The living room is large and has a great reading chair, game table, and flat-screen television. First floor unit has drive for parking and private access into unit.

About The Owner

I am a New Englander and have lived in the Portland area off and on for 25 years. I am now settled here and wouldn't live anywhere else but Munjoy Hill. It is truly special to hear fog horns, the train, and the tug boats hard at work in the harbor. The sounds and the smells leave a lastly impression. In addition to being a Realtor, I am also an artist and founded the Society for East End Arts with a few fellow-artists almost 10 years ago. I love walking on the Eastern Promenade with my dog, Coali, where there is an off-leash area for her to run and socialize with the other Hill dogs.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1988

Why The Owner chose Portland

I love Portland's East End. It's where I live myself, and I feel fortunate to step out of my door each day to see the sun and moon rise over Casco Bay. I wouldn't live anywhere else and think you will enjoy visiting Portland with all that it has to offer.

What makes this apartment unique

When I saw this property, I had to have it--and so did several other people. I was in a multiple offer situation and was fortunate enough to be the chosen buyer. It's a comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood. I love that this unit has its own private entrance and coveted driveway. The unit is furnished with art created by local artists and treasures that I've collected around Portland. I hope you'll have fun with the chalkboard wall in the dining room!

Very nice vacation rental

We had an over-all great stay, although the front bedroom is a bit noisy from the upstairs neighbors coming in and out and the street noise. The kitchen supplies could be updated as well. The property was very clean and comfortable and the location was prime. Also, at least having a snow shovel or two handy would be nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your suggestions! I was surprised when I went to the property after your stay to see that the person contracted to clear the driveway and entrances of snow did not do so. My apologies! In contacting him, his employee cleaned the wrong property. It is straightened out now. Winter arrived early this year, and--with this being the first snow storm--I was admittedly under prepared in not having a shovel at the property. I'm happy to take an inventory of kitchen supplies and will certainly update anything that is needed. Thanks again!

Coming from NYC, it was quite a large apartment. 3 adults, 2 toddlers were a comfortable fit. In great condition, newly painted and exceptionally clean. Colleen was very accessible and easy to deal with. Internet was a little of an issue, but I am sure that is resolved.

This freshly renovated apartment is located on Munjoy Hill. Downeast Magazine's recent article 'Cool on the Hill' characterizes this area as the hippest area in Portland. Located in a residential neighborhood, the apartment is steps from the Eastern Promenade park which has a beautiful lookout into Casco Bay. It's an easy walk to several fine restaurants, Rosemont Market, and Hilltop Coffee. Hop in your car and grab groceries at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or Hannaford--all just 10 minutes away. Portland Trails provides a lovely walking trail along the water into downtown Portland. Portland is a foodie town, and it's difficult to find a bad meal here. Beaches are an easy 15 minute drive to South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, or Scarborough. East End Beach is located within the Eastern Promenade Park. From your rental, you can hear fog horns, see the moon rise over the bay, and hear the osprey overhead. Hop over to one of the many island in Casco Bay to spend the day peddling or walking around or take the 'mail boat' which stops at a handful of islands and makes a fun day trip. Outlet shopping is 20 minutes away in Freeport. So much to see and enjoy!
