You can't come close to this value for lodging in London. Hotels will run multiples of this cost. While you give up room service and the concierge experience, you get: the ability to have a meal at the flat - way cheaper than going out, and a washing machine to catch the laundry up. We used both extensively. And we used this rental flat as a base of operations to visit a lot of great nearby sites, shopping, and dining.
There was a glitch in our welcome, which ended up being less than satisfactory when the Property Manager was unable to greet us and the employee who did was not gracious at all. But we got past that (and Jacqueline was responsive to the concerns we raised on that). Everything else was as advertised and as I said a really superb value.
P.S. Don't take the underground to get to the flat from Heathrow unless you want to be schlepping you heavy luggage up and down multiple flights of crowded stairs. Take a direct train into town and then grab a taxi from there for the remaining bit.
We are a family of 6 - with 2 boys aged 20 and 13, and 2 girls aged 17 and 11. My husband & I and the girls took the upstairs bedrooms, the boys slept downstairs in the living room using the air mattresses provided.
We arrived at the property early Friday morning and were greeted by the housekeeper Faye. When she saw that the 2 boys were the ones who'd be sleeping downstairs, she told us that the property only had a double air mattress, no singles. She said she didn't think that the boys would be comfortable sharing the mattress, so she'd go buy new ones. And true enough later that same day she came back and dropped off 2 single air mattresses and the bedlinens to go with them. We were pleasantly surprised and appreciated her thoughtfulness.
We thought that the property's greatest asset was it's location. It was a very short walk to the Natural History Museum and the tube station, with numerous restaurants and cafes scattered around the area. The amenities provided were as listed and we had everything we needed and more. The open living, dining and kitchen area were large enough to fit all of us comfortably and this was a huge relief for us hecause we stayed at the property for 10 days and many evenings were spent here after a whole day's outing. The 2.5 baths were also a great comfort for us, and that was one of the main reasons i chose this property.
I would say that the property is well maintained, but the only reason i didn't give it a 5-star rating is because i didn't find it as clean as I expected it to be. There was a thin film of dust/dirt on the kitchen counter and the toilets. It took a while for the water to drain from the shower stall, but the problem was only that the drain pipe was clogged with hair (which we cleaned ourselves). The cushions in the bedrooms and living room also need to be cleaned regularly. I do hope that the owner/manager would address these issues.
Having said all that, I would definitely recommend the property to relatives and friends. I had no trouble at all in getting my questions answered regarding my booking and stay. Jacqueline was always prompt and precise in her correspondence with me. And the housekeeper, Faye was also always reachable by phone for any query I had. All in all, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay for us.
Apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood but with supermarkets and lots of restaurants nearby, subway walking distance. Clean and tidy, provision of necessary items such as coffee, tea, sugar, tissues, etc was a nice gesture.
My husband & I along with another couple had a lovely stay in this flat. Jacqueline is very easy to work with. The flat is very nice and the location is wonderful. Just around the corner is the Underground & many great restaurants. It is easy to get anywhere from here. The extra bathroom on the same floor as the living area was nice to have. Lots of room to relax. It is equipped with a washer & dryer, but it was complicated to use & the dryer didn't work very well. Kitchen is well appointed for cooking though all we did was heat leftovers & enjoy morning tea. I would definitely stay here again.
We very much enjoyed this beautiful apartment. The location was great and very convenient access to the tube. We would definitely come back and stay again.
Very good location near lots of restaurants and shops, and a short walk to South Kensington tube. 3 bathrooms was nice. Nice bedroom for my wife and I with ensuite, and our 2 kids shared a small room with a queen or double I forget. Nice spacious room downstairs with couch, TV and kitchen so we could have breakfast. I would recommend for 2 or 4 people family that don't mind sharing 2 rooms.
