Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Kentucky - Roseheights
Before booking, please tell us a little bit about your party and what brings you to Louisville. We'd love to help you plan for your trip by suggesting fun things to do and great places to visit while here.
Welcome to historic ROSEHEIGHTS, custom designed in 1901 by architects D.X Murphy and Brother of Louisville -- the same architects who built the famed Twin Spires at Churchill Downs. Previously owned by the Mayor of Louisville and Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, this prestigious home has been host to many U.S. political figures such as First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, Presidential Candidate Adali Stevenson and Presidents Truman and Johnson.
House features 5 huge bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 half baths. All three rooms on the second level (1 king, 2 queens) have private en suite bathrooms, including the master which features a claw-foot tub and separate steam shower. Two bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full) on the third floor share a gigantic bathroom. The third floor also features a huge game room complete with pool table and oversize TV. Quiet, bright sun room on the first floor is the perfect location to read the paper and sip coffee every morning. Large private pool in beautifully landscaped backyard complete with Brown Jordan pool furniture (pool is not heated and is open from spring through summer -- usually early May through early September). Top of the line, gourmet appliances throughout the home. Workout room on lower level. Completely renovated from top to bottom, this is truly a unique estate.
High quality bed linens and towels adorn each bedroom. House is stocked with bottled water and a Keurig coffee maker (coffee pods included).
Situated on one of the most elite streets in the city, in prestigious Highlands neighborhood just blocks from restaurants, shops and bars, and just steps from famed Cherokee Park. Easy freeway access, close to downtown and airport and just a short 15 minute drive from Valhalla Golf Course or 10 minutes from Churchill Downs. If you're not familiar with Louisville, this is the 'happening' part of town -- you'll be just blocks away from some of the best restaurants in the city.
**Note: While our house is thoroughly cleaned prior to each visit, we do have a cat (cat will not be present during guest stay)
Note about weddings and special events: While we are flattered that you think Roseheights would make a great venue for your wedding, it's really not set up to accommodate one. Special event requests will be considered on a case by case basis.

About Lisa Causarano
Keith was born and raised in Louisville. He is a general contractor and considers the renovation and revitalization of Roseheights one of his greatest projects. Lisa is a California native but is now proud to call Louisville home. She's lived through lots of home projects but considers this one her favorite.
Lisa Causarano purchased this house in 2010
Why Lisa Causarano chose Kentucky
We found Roseheights almost by accident. We weren't looking to move but as soon as we saw it, we knew this property was meant for us. The property had been vacant when we bought it and was in desperate need of some TLC. We spent a year renovating the property from top to bottom. We moved in right before Derby in 2011 and have been welcoming guests ever since!
