Thermopolis is a small, historic Wyoming town situated at the base of three mountain ranges. The World's Largest Hot Springs is located here. The nearby State Park boasts three mineral hot spring pools and spas. The Wind River cuts through the spectacular Wind River Canyon just south of town, offering rafting and fishing adventures, and nearby mountains offer horseback riding, biking, and hiking. Just outside of town is the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and a daily dig site tour. Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are just two and a half hours away through wonderful Wyoming ranch and mountain country.
If you’re looking for a place to let the creative juices run free look no further; your novel or work of art has found its home.
My husband and I both work and enjoy spending time in Thermopolis to soak and relax.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
Thermopolis is within driving distance from our home. We have vacationed here for many years. Soaking in the hot springs has been a joy in our lives. We always feel rejuvenated from the mineral hot springs.
We had a great week. Amanda did well at the Dinosaur museum, and they even asked her to come back as an intern next summer! Not sure how I will pay for that, but I'm going to try and figure out a way.
We loved staying in your house.
We had an excellent vacation in Thermopolis.
Rented this little house as a place to stay while Mom in rehabilitation. Unfortunately, she was not transferred until the day I left. Had things worked out like it was supposed to, a great accommodation to come and go and feel at home. Very clean and the bed comfortable.
Overall the property was great for our needs. 3 of us stayed over the holidays. Much better than staying at hotel. The house is small but functional and well maintained. The back yard was perfect for the dogs to go out. Bed was comfy (too comfy some mornings). Loved the extra heater in the bathroom (great when you get out of a shower to warm room). Anything and everything you need to cook, clean or have a good stay could be found in this house. Perfect get away home.
Okay, the house was advertised as an Artist/Writers Retreat, and even though we are both writers we selected Thermop because of the hot springs. One small problem is that Thermopolis and the surrounding area have a lot of interesting detours off the writing path! Our winter month-long stay was nice, and the house, though smallish, was a bit larger than we thought it would be—and it has a great, comfortable feel. It is centrally located, yet on a quiet street. Friendly folks abound, as do deer and things to do. We will leave with fond feelings for the house, its owners, and the town. Might we return? Don’t be surprised. Oh, and we did get some work done on a screenplay, a novel and a magazine article with a deadline!
My wife and I (and our little dog) were looking for a cozy place to use as a base from which to explore the Thermopolis area. And this was a great find. The house is pretty small, but we found this made for a cozy vacation; we were always close to each other, which was nice. The yard was quite small, but had lots of great odds and ends decorating it. And the house is older, but it's nicely maintained, and we loved the feel of it. And we spent most of our time out and about: It was an easy walk to restaurants and shopping, and not far to downtown and the hot springs. Perfect for what we needed! I am sure we'll be back!
Really, really nice!! Sound went out on the T.V but so what.
Three of us stayed for 8 nights this summer, while my daughter attended the Dinosaur Academy. In addition to the museums, there are other attractions in the Thermopolis area, especially the hot springs.
This cute house is conveniently located, quiet but near everything. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen is tiny but adequate. We loved sitting on the front steps surrounded by the flower garden. There is also a small fenced yard. Overall, this was much nicer than staying in a hotel for a similar price. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this home to others.
