Make yourself at home at this chic, sunny true one-bedroom apartment conveniently located in Portland’s fashionable, central Pearl District.

From your Pearl on the Park, located on Park Ave between Everett and Flanders, take a 5-minute walk Downtown to the Cultural District and shopping at Jonathan Adler, Nordstrom, Macy's, and the famous Powell's Books; head up to 23rd Street on the Max (the streetcar is just a block and a half from the apartment) for some ace shopping and dining (don't miss the iconic Elephant's!); or stay in the Pearl for amazing cuisine (try Andina, one of our favorite lunch and dinner spots), coffees, art galleries, boutiques, the wonderful Living Room movie theater, and much more. Union Station is two blocks away. Willamette River is 8 blocks east.

From your 4th floor perch (with balcony) at the center of the Pearl, you’ll be within walking distance to the best of outdoors Portland as well, including acres of parks and green space (there’s a 5-block park just across the street), innovative restaurants, the wonderful food carts, Farmers Market at PSU, cultural outings (stop in for a breather at the Japanese Gardens), outdoor adventures and—of course—more coffee shops than you could sample in six months.

You don’t even need a car. But if you do bring one, a parking spot is included in the price.

I believe that a good night’s sleep is essential to quality of life. That’s why the bed has a downy, king-sized cloud of a mattress wrapped in sumptuous 400-threadcount sheets and topped with a Restoration Hardware linen duvet and shams.

A COOK’S KITCHEN

Of course, with the diverse selection of eateries just outside (and a Thai restaurant right downstairs), you may never feel the need to cook.

But if you do, this kitchen has you covered. It’s one of my favorite spots in the apartment, with its stainless steel appliances, glossy black granite countertops, and barstool seating so the chef can chat with guests while they cook.

The cupboards are packed with everything a cook needs, including Calphalon pots and pans and dinnerware by Z Gallerie.

Even better: you’re within easy walking distance to World Foods, which is brimming with fresh, colorful produce and delicious, fresh meats, seafood and cheeses as well as mouth-watering freshly prepared foods from soups to salads. (There's a whole section at World Foods devoted to different chocolates .. definitely my kind of place.)

A BATHROOM YOU SEE IN THE DESIGNER MAGAZINES

The photos aren't up on this listing yet because our new bathroom is in process of being renovated as I write this. It will be completed in April. The bathroom features black marble floors with in-floor heating, a stunning Restoration Hardware updated 18th-century French dresser vanity with Carrera marble top, deep soaker tub, and glass wall mirror with soft, beautiful lighting. We're even adding a chandelier to glam the bathroom up a bit. I think it's fun to have a bit of luxury when you're away from home and since this is our home-away-from-home, I wanted it for myself as well as for our guests like you.

LOVELY EXTRAS

Artwork and photography by local artists around the apartment showcase the thriving artist culture for which Portland is famous.

An in-unit Bosch washer and dryer make laundry a breeze. While your clothes spin, watch Netflix on the new 42-inch SmartTV in the living area.

And in the morning, nothing beats a steaming espresso from the Breville espresso machine or a fresh brew from the Chemex. We stock lots of great coffee for you to try. This is Portland, after all!

About Owner

I'm an American and Greg is Barbadian. We live on the beautiful island of Barbados in the Caribbean. Between us we've raised five wonderful children and we're in the stage of life now where we are able to balance satisfying work with enriching leisure.

We are in the US a great deal, as well as Canada and Europe. What can I say, we love to travel. Few places have gotten under our skin like Portland, Oregon, however, and we're delighted to have the opportunity to buy a pretty one-bedroom apartment as a vacation home there that we can rent out to other Portland-lovers.

Why Owner chose Portland

We've been visiting Portland for 12 years, have always loved the vibrancy of this sophisticated small city, and finally decided to buy a place. We knew we wanted a place where we could walk everywhere and that's why we bought in the Pearl District. When we don't want to walk, Portland's light rail is two blocks away.

What makes this condo unique

After viewing a number of properties on the market in Portland, Greg knew the moment we walked into the one that became ours that it was The One. I followed suit about five minutes later. We were attracted by the layout, which features high ceilings and a long curved wall that opens into a beautiful kitchen/dining/living area with French door to a patio overlooking city buildings.

We loved the southern exposure, the tons of storage it offered, the spacious bedroom which accommodated a king bed and large dresser, the open kitchen with new black granite counters, the laundry room with terrific Bosch appliances. We loved that we could make this place our own while also making it exquisitely comfy for visitors who also wanted a homey, decked-out apartment in Portland where you can walk absolutely anywhere you want to go: cinema, theater, restaurants galore, coffee shops, little nooks of shops as well as major department stores like Nordstrom and Restoration Hardware.

We decorated and put the apartment on the rental market in February 2014. We are excited to use the apartment ourselves and delighted to offer it to others who love Portland as much as we do.

A nice little enjoyable condo in the Pearl Distric

We very much enjoyed our stay in this condo. This was one of the few places we have ever stayed that was accurately described and met all of our expecations. It is very nicely furnished, comfortable and compact - an ideal place for a couple from which to explore Portland. The owners are very responsive to inquiries and go out of their way to make sure that your stay is enjoyable. Although there is no parking place in the building, the owners provided us a parking pass in a surface lot just two blocks down the street which worked out well for us. If you are visiting without a car (and if you are sticking to Portland itself, one is not necnessary) this should not be an issue. While there is a very nice washer and dryer in the unit, if you are planning on doing much laundry a caveat is that the dryer is not vented to the outside so the drying time is quite long.

Wonderful property with great access to everything we wished to do. Should I return to Portland, this is where I would want to stay. The listing is accurate. The property is clean and well maintained. Questions are responded to immediately. Our adventures included the zoo, the food trucks, Powell Books, the train, Deschutes Brewery, Park Kitchen, Le Pigeon, Pearl Yoga, and Stumpyown Coffee.

Top of the line!

Our first visit to PDX was perfect and so was our stay at this well appointed apt. The location was spot on in terms of access to restaurants, shops, transportation and the park is just outside the front entrance. The small patio was a nice feature, with good views. The apt is quite and the bed is solid and comfortable. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us.

Beautiful Condo in Great Location!

This is a beautiful little condo. Perfect for two people. It's beautifully decorated and the kitchen is well stocked with everhting you will need. The high end King size bed delivers a very restful night sleep. The location in the Pearl District of Portland is convenient for walking to many great restaurants and shops. There is also a Street Car stop only a couple blocks away that will take you to Nob Hill or Downtown Portland in just a few minutes.

Thank you Jane and Gregg for sharing you lovely condo with us for our 24th Anniversary! We hope to return very soon.

We had a lovely week at Jane and Greg's apartment. Perfect location for getting around downtown Portland and that was our main goal. The apartment was very clean and the building was in great shape. Would stay again! A+

Movies: Head for the Living Room for an intimate movie experience with great food and drink to enjoy along with the film.

Coffee: Oh my ... what's a Portland visit without coffee? Stumptown, Glyph, of course Starbucks ... every corner or two offers a great cup of coffee.

Groceries: Around the corner is World Foods, yum. Beautiful, bright shopping experience with luscious fruits and veggies, meats/fish/poultry, wines, coffees, chocolates, breads, and all the regular stuff, of course, too, such as milk, cereal, juice. Also has some terrific prepared foods to take out or eat in their casual dining area.

Culture: Stroll over to Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall for orchestra, comedy, live theater, more. A true treasure of Portland for your enjoyment.

Parks: Right across from the apartment is a five-block-long park. Pioneer Square is gorgeous and has shopping all around it. Waterfront Park is 30 acres of riverfront park - not to be missed. You can walk to all of these easily. For free Shakespeare-on-the-Park in the summertime, take the streetcar to Laurelhurst Park.

Dining&Bars: Where to begin? Top-rated Andina is a favorite, a couple of blocks from the apartment. Also very nearby: Life of Riley, super-casual sports bar; Parish Restaurant & Bar, hip and lovely, particularly for a late-night cocktail; Teardrop Cocktail Lounge has won best-drinks-in-Portland awards. The condo building itself offers CK Thai, which is wonderful for take-out (or dine in), and right downstairs.

Scenic Drives: Mt Hood; Columbia River Gorge (stunning!). Also: Skyline Blvd around Forest Park gives a panoramic view of the city of Portland on one side and the Columbia River on the other side; Crown Point Hwy is a small two-lane highway that will take you to 6 state parks and 7 beautiful waterfalls. Want to just drive and drive through beautiful Oregon scenery? Take Hwy 6 and go as long and as far as you want. Of course, all of the above offer outstanding hiking.

  • Spacious and comfortable with a king Simmons Beautyrest Comforpedic Sophisticated mattress, the most comfortable mattress I've ever experienced (I feel a good night's sleep is really important to a good vacation). For your things are a large closet and large bureau. The bedroom is quiet and peaceful with beautiful lighting.
