Sure, you could drive to the lake, but that would be missing the point. The best way to Lake Tahoe is a walk along Trout Creek through a scenic meadow. Along the way, there's a good chance you'll see a beaver building his dam. Or, you could fish for trout by day, and grill it on the deck of this cozy home located just a block from the meadow. After a day of skiing (Heavenly is minutes away), hiking, or boating on the lake, you'll appreciate the hot tub, pool table, full kitchen, and deck when the day is over. Trout Creek Retreat is close to everything fun and exciting in Lake Tahoe, but it's also a comfortable, relaxing place to hang your hat at the end of the day.

The house was everything as described. Although there were only 4 of us the house can sleep at least twice that number. The house is located is a quiet neighborhood that is nice to walk around but it is not close enough to any of the attractions that you can walk to. We did not walk to the beach but I would estimate that it is a good 15 to 20 minute. If you have bikes you will be good to go. Otherwise you will need to use to car to get into the main part of town.
The house was well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses and flatware. Plenty of towels for the bathrooms. We did not use the hot tub but we looked at it and it looked great.
The management company that we worked with was friendly and easy to work with from the reservation, payments and getting access to the house. They were also easy to contact during our stay.
Only negative was that the rugs could have been cleaner. They were a bit worn and could use a good cleaning. A negative yes but not a big deal as the rest of the house was clean.
