Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 2004
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Penrith
We were actually looking for a small house but the purchases kept falling through for one reason or another. This beautiful early Victorian house, with it's gothic arch window features and steeply pitched roof, was huge - 6 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms and massive kitchen, not to mention the huge cellar and the servant's bell-pulls too. We thought that it was far too big for just the two of us... so we decided to become property developers/builders and turned this huge house into a large house and two apartments.
What makes this house unique
The house is truly lovely (Well we and many of our guests seem to think so) and the location is great for exploring the far north-west of England (Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall etc) as well as Dumfries & Galloway and the Border regions of Scotland.
Penrith has a mainline express train station linking it quickly with London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond. It is also situated on the junction of the M6 motorway running North to South and the A66 trans Pennines link road connecting East to West (Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than 2 hours drive away). There are also intercity Bus and Coach services running to/from the town and a good local bus service to travel around the region. Electric bicycles can also be rented from the town...
