Sea Shells - Renovated Oceanfront Townhome in newer part of Delaporte Point, Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas.

Our modern townhome is located within the private residential community of Delaporte Point. Enjoy the breathtaking views and the best picturesque sunsets over the Bahamian waters from our generous west facing patio. Delaporte Point is a unique peninsula surrounded by ocean, private beach at your doorstep and beautifully maintained gardens. There are two swimming pools with sun lounges and deck for your enjoyment.

The townhome has three (3) large bedrooms; two (2) bathrooms (including the master ensuite) and a separate powder room on the ground level. All bed linen (organic), bath and beach towels are provided plus beach chairs, sun umbrella and cooler for your enjoyment. Some of the best snorkelling and sea life surrounds us.

The residence is over 3 levels and is spacious and well appointed. On the first floor you will find the kitchen, powder room and open plan living room leading to the patio with sun lounges and seating/dining area. The second floor has two large bedrooms and a large bathroom and laundry. The master bedroom and ensuite is on the third floor. This spacious private suite includes a reading area with views of the ocean.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with a fridge; oven; cooktop; microwave; dishwasher and separate wine fridge. The unit is air conditioned and there are ceiling fans throughout. There is free internet, cable TV and a telephone for local calls - long distance phone cards are easily purchased from many stores throughout the island.

Delaporte Point is tranquil, removed from the hustle and bustle. The local #10 jitney bus stops right at the front gate every 10-15 minutes to take you to different parts of the island including downtown; ferry to Paradise Island/Atlantis; cruise ship dock; Cable Beach Casino and so on ... Restaurants, beaches, gym and grocery shopping are all at your doorstep, within 5-10 minute walking distance. If you would prefer you can hire a car and discover this island paradise at your leisure. Free designated parking areas (2) are provided for the unit. Detailed information sheets, tourism brochures and maps are provided.

Just okay, nothing special

The price and size of the unit were nice. Barbara picked us up at the airport and brought us back, just as other reviewers had said and that was very convenient. It was nice to have Wi-Fi in the unit. The unit had 4 very nice beach chairs and a cooler that were great to take to the beach. The jitney (bus) stopped very close by and was a very good way to get around - we even took it to Love Beach with all of our beach gear - I'd definitely recommend Love Beach. The unit is within walking distance to a couple of decent restaurants - Twisted Lime and Spritz. The view was wonderful and the patio on the unit was nice and perfect for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night.

We found the unit to be a little run-down. Chaise lounges on the patio are in need of replacement. The grill was rusted and didn't look inviting. The inside was okay but could also use some freshening and light maintenance like a couple of coats of paint. The wi-fi was nice to have but very spotty - had to sit on the staircase to get the signal. We had maintenance people stop in 4 times - once to fix the drain in the shower and 3 times to fix the storm window in the master bedroom that was stuck in the down position so blocked all light and prevented us from opening the window. The pool area of the complex is also a bit rundown.

Beautiful Sunsets!

Condo was very beautiful. Nicely decorated and kitchen has more than enough pots and pans and dishes, etc. The views were spectacular from the patio. As usual Barbara was fantastic to deal with! Everything is as pictured. The only negatives would be that the wine fridge wasn't working, the water pump for the fridge and ice maker wasn't working, the grill on the deck really needs replacing but was usable and the patio lounge chairs really need to be replace. The table and chairs for eating were fine, but the two lounge chairs where not in good shape at all. Another good thing was that the closet in the condo had beach chairs and a cooler that you could take to the pool or beach which was very nice. Overall a great place!

Well equipped condo with breathtaking views!

Our party of 4 adults and 2 children rented the condo over the holiday season. This was the first time using VRBO and overall, we were very pleased. Peter and the process of using Paypal was smooth and simple. We were also encouraged to reach out to Barbara to arrange transportation. We were slightly skeptical of the informal process to "call when you arrive for a pick up and key" but this is how things work in the islands. From the time you walk off the plane, you slip into the relaxed island mode. Waiting 10 mins for a private pick up is no worry. We were quickly taken to our condo complex. It was true to the pictures - clean, well equipped and right on the water. Barbara gave us a quick tour around so we felt quick comfortable and at home.

Overall the island is very safe and you feel at ease going to the grocery. It is close enough to walk however coming home with bags, it's easier to jump on the bus for $1.25. There are also a few restaurants at Sandy Port (just over the bridge), Poop Deck and Nesbitts. Overall the food is a little heavy and greasy but this is the style - fried fritters and plaintain! Typically we would make a casual breakfast and lunch and then make dinner or go out. Twin Brother at the fish fry had a lovely steamed fish and conch salad!

The condo is equipped to make a nice meal and also has a few spices, sugar and other supplies (laundry soap, dish washer soap etc.). The unit is also stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc. so it's easy to relax at the beach. Climbing the rocks and snorkeling are also activities to break up the day. We also enjoyed a day in town for some shopping and a short trip to Atlantis.

Overall, a great trip! Thanks to Barbara for always checking in on us and making us feel at home!

Relaxing Stay

The condo was very nice and description of the property was accurate. Unit was well equipped and clean. Great location and views. Barbara was very nice and helpful. Take advantage of the available car. The sofa in the unit could be more comfortable.

The two restaurants (Twisted Lime and Spritz) across the street in the Sandyport marina were good. We did not eat at the Poop Deck.

The sea was too rough to snorkel near the property. We went to Stuart's Cove - cost of $75 well worth the price to snorkel and swim with sharks.

Relaxing, Enjoyable Vacation

The condo had a very contemporary feel with fantastic views, and it's located in a quiet community. It was easy and inexpensive to jump on the jitney (bus) and go to Cable Beach and Downtown. We dove with Stuart Cove's Dive Shop, they pick up at the major hotels and picked us up at the bus stop just in front of the complex, which meant there was no need for a rental car.

Barbara was fantastic, she picked us up at the airport, took us to the grocery store and provided information on the island.

Very Pleased!!!

I went with my sister in law and my aunt. It was nice and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped so we were able to cook. It is literally on the beach. The view from the patio is magnificent! We loved the property!!! The bus line is right in front of the property which is only $1.50 and it will get you everywhere you need to go. There is a hint of a mildew smell on the 3rd floor (that bothered me) but my aunt and sister in law didn't even want me to mention it (the smell didn't bother them) because the rental was otherwishe Perfect!!! We would definately stay here again and recommend it to others.
